Wicked White (Wicked White Series Book 1)
Author: Michelle A. Valentine
Release Date: June 23, 2015
Print Length: 256 pages
After his mother dies, rock star Ace White—lead singer of the red-hot band Wicked White—is done with the celebrity game. The phony people, the meaningless one-night stands: he doesn’t want any of it anymore. Quitting in the middle of a sold-out tour, Ace sets out to find some place—any place—where he can be alone.
Aspiring singer Iris Easton’s life has never been easy. First, her mother walked out on her when she was a kid. Now she’s buried in debt, weeks after losing her beloved grandmother. When a mysterious and sexy new guy moves in next door, Iris can’t help but be drawn to his soulful gaze. She can tell there’s something from his past haunting him—something he’s not telling her.
Just as Ace starts falling for Iris, the media go on a worldwide hunt to find the missing rocker. Will true love conquer all, or will the truth be the very thing that tears the couple apart?

Be prepared to have a sweet tooth after this book! It’s so sugary sweet I think I have a cavity! None the less Michelle Valentine still delivers a compelling love story that pulled me in from the first page. Ace is a man that will have you swooning and wishing your own husband/boy friend was as sweet as him. With that being said Ace did have his moments as to when he went full on alpha (which is really hot too).
I felt with this book Michelle might have been trying to reach a new group of readers by not making the story overly erotic. It has a couple of scenes that will leave you with a little panty pudding but nothing compared to her previous works. Even though the panty scorching level as we call it here at The Smut-Brarians was a little low I still enjoyed Wicked White. The characters I fell in love with, the storyline I loved and want more of.
As always Michelle’s writing and story flows amazingly well and drew me in until the end. I loved that the characters are strong and compelling. I can’t wait to see where Ace and Iris’s story goes next.

Okay, let me start off by saying I “FLOVE” Michelle Valentine. I have read so many of her books that I was super excited to get to read this one. But do you know how when you have a craving for a certain food… when you go to your favorite restaurant to order that food… and it wasn’t cooked the way you were “craving it”. Well, that is the only way I can describe how I am feeling. I can’t say the book was bad… it just wasn’t what I was “craving” from Michelle. I am used to a certain style of read from her, and this was very different than many of the books I have read of hers.
It was a “SWEET” romance that just didn’t do much for me. It was very much “fairy tale-ish” to me. It was just…. “Sticky Sweet”. (great…now I have that song Pour Some Sugar on Me by Def Leppard and that really doesn’t fit with this story.) Okay… where was I? Oh yes, there may be many of you out there that will love this because of that, but I for one just wasn’t the right reader for this story.
When you throw in “Shakespeare” and “Rock and Roll” you just loose me. Don’t get me wrong… I love me a “Rock and Roll”, but I can do without the other. Again… give me a book with great chemistry and hot sex or even with a great love story with a little bit of “angst” I am your girl, but this just wasn’t it.
