What a beautiful love story!
Have you ever read a story that made you really think? Think about how you might be living your life, and really want to be more like a book character? Well, this book had me wanting to be more like the female main character “Kira”.
Kira was someone who never let life get her down. Even though she was dealt a bad hand, and her father and her ex-fiancé used her for their political gains. She was down on her luck, but not letting that get to her. She leave the country for a year and when she comes back, she needs to come up with a plan to get back on her feet.
In comes Grayson Hawthorne. A very handsome man who was owner of the local winery, who was also dealt a bad hand of bad luck. His winery was in ruins and he was trying his best to not have to sell it. Oh, did I say that he also was in prison for 5 years? Yep, and Kira’s father had something to do with that.
With a chance meeting at the bank, while Kira was there closing out her last account for all the money she had… and Grayson was there trying to get a loan, but because of his time spent in jail, he was denied, Kira came up with an idea of how to help him, and herself at the same time.
Kira goes to Grayson’s home the next day to lay out the plan to him and that is when all the fun begins.
Kira gets so much more than she bargained for during this time with Grayson. She finds love, happiness and all in someone who has “ice walls” around his heart.
When I was reading this story, I could feel so much emotion for both Kira and Grayson and feel their story develop. But what was really surprising was you not only had the main characters, but there was a great development of side characters in this story.
It was a truly a beautiful story of love, a true meaning of family, and a story that will leave you feeling that you want to be better and try to live your life like a fictional character, because this story left me feeling GOOD. Oh… don’t get me wrong…there was a LOT of ANGST in this story, but it all works itself out in the long run and it was so worth it. (Because I am normally not a fan of ANGST… but I really enjoyed it in this story.)
