The last thing she needs after running from one monster is to land in the lair of the Devil.
Twenty-one year old Ember flees her past with soot on her face, ash in her hair, and a promise. She’ll never let another man take away her freedom and treat her like she means nothing.
But that is exactly what Maverick Gunn, leader of the notorious Harbinger’s of Chaos Motorcycle Club seeks to do from the moment his lethal gaze locks on her. He burns her with every look. Every touch. Every word.
Ember’s only hope is to convince him she’s nothing like the woman who blackened his soul before he drags her down into the darkness with him.

Burning Ember took me by surprise and I loved every minute of it. It is one of those books where you know you need to go to sleep but you keep telling yourself one more chapter which leads to going to bed way later and actually waking up early to read some more before you have to start our day. I love MC books and this book has quickly become one of my favorites and I know I will be rereading it.
Burning Ember is the story of Ember who leaves the hell she is currently living in hopes of escaping and living life how she wants to. She believes that even if she has to live on the street it is better than living the hell she has come to know every single day. In a twist of fate when Ember is being questioned by a police office, she receives the aid from a stranger. This stranger quickly befriends Ember and just so happens to be an old lady of one of the biker’s from of a Harbinger’s of Chaos Motorcycle Club. Desperate for help of any type and caught in a desperate situation Ember tags along with her new friend and finds herself asking to stay at the clubhouse and offering anything to given the chance to stay there. With nothing to lose Ember proves herself and quickly finds that all the bikers are slowly starting to warm up to her except for one- the leader— Maverick Gunn. The moment Maverick Gunn sees Ember he immediately hates her as he feels she is the spitting image of his past but yet he can’t seem to get her off his mind or out of his eye sight. Maverick refuses to let go of his past and holds onto to the guilt and anger despite his club telling him that he needs to let go of the past. Will Maverick finally be able to let go of the past and truly see what he has in front of him? Will Ember be able to truly escape the past she so desperately is trying to flee from or will it find her? I’m telling you, you have to pick up this book to find out-it is SOOO worth it!
Needless to say I loved this book. From the very first page I had such a hard time putting this book down. I loved how I truly felt that I learned not only about Ember and Maverick but other characters in the book as well. We didn’t get to know them just on the surface but in-depth. I won’t lie I wasn’t the biggest fan of Maverick in the beginning but after a while I realized that I was starting to warm up to him once I learned his story. There are so many things about this story that I loved- it was believable, the characters were lovable and you truly learned a lot about them, and the story was so well written. This is book 1 of the Harbingers of Chaos so I am so excited to know that there are more books to come about this MC. Darby Briar I LOVED this book and will be stalking you (in a non-creepy way of course) now to find out when the next books come out! I can’t wait to read more books by you!
