The New York Times bestselling author of Wallbanger and Rusty Nailed is back with Nuts, the first in a brand new series set in New York’s beautiful Hudson Valley.

Roxie Callahan is a private chef to some of Hollywood’s wealthiest, and nastiest, calorie-counting wives. After a dairy disaster implodes her carefully crafted career in one fell ploop, she finds herself back home in upstate New York, bailing out her hippie mother and running the family diner.

When gorgeous local farmer Leo Maxwell delivers her a lovely bunch of organic walnuts, Roxie wonders if a summer back home isn’t such a bad idea after all. Leo is heavily involved in the sustainable slow food movement, and he likes to take his time. In all things. Roxie is determined to head back to the west coast as soon as summer ends, but will the pull of lazy fireflies and her very own Almanzo Wilder be enough to keep her home for good?

Salty. Spicy. Sweet. Nuts. Go on, grab a handful.

Holy frijole this is a good book! Roxie is a personal chef living in LA when she has a bad day with a client that costs her most of her regular customers. Her hippie mother calls up to tell her she’s going on a reality show and needs her to run the family diner in a small town in New York. AND she meets a hot farmer guy named Leo. This all adds up to some hot summer loving Grease style since Roxie doesn’t do relationships. Will she be able to pack up at the end of summer and head back to Cali and the big city?

“’Go on. Try it,’ he said, offering me the strawberry.

‘I don’t take candy from strangers.’

‘It’s not candy, and we’re not strangers. We painted together.’

‘And fell down a few times.’

‘Exactly,’ he nodded, holding it out once more. ‘Put this in your mouth.’

‘That’s exactly what a stranger might say,’ I said, but opened up.

He dropped it onto my tongue, his eyes crinkling when I let out the tiniest sigh.

‘That’s a great fucking strawberry.’

‘I like to think so,’ he replied. We looked at each other exactly two seconds longer than was necessary, then moved on.”

I loved The Redhead Series and this series follows that style. It’s sexy, funny and romantic. Roxie is my girl! I’m deathly afraid of bees and run as well with my husband giving me looks like I’m insane so I can totally relate to this. Roxie and Leo have a cute, flirtatious relationship that starts out as casual but seems headed for more. A twist popped up that I was wondering why I didn’t see that coming but it was a sneaky twist. It was hiding fairly well. Nice play…and I enjoyed the book from beginning to end. I really can’t wait to read more in this series.

I definitely recommend this story if you enjoy dirty play on words and hot panty melting scenes. A cute couple with amazing friends and small town quirkiness. Sign me up! I want to move there so I can have Roxie’s desserts and Leo’s nuts. Mmmmmm….nuts…..
