Ghost has been living his life under one rule…never fall in love, never get too close, never get tied down to just one woman. Focusing solely on his club, he is able to remain unattached and free…. until a girl from his past is dropped in his lap. She was a line he swore he’d never cross. And now, in order to obtain an alliance his club needs, he’s forced to use her in ways he’d never imagined.
She needs his protection, and she’s the one woman he can’t refuse.
When Ghost finds himself unable to keep his distance from her, will he be able to push his feelings aside and use her as a pawn for the attainment of his club’s goals? Or will he put the club and their lives at risk to follow his heart?
When lies and secrets come between them, can they overcome everything to find their own piece of heaven?
Let me start off by saying that when I originally signed up for this book I didn’t know that it was part of a series, I thought it was a standalone or perhaps the beginning of a series. Luckily for me (and you) this book can be read as a standalone however knowing that there are four books prior about the guys of the MC makes me so happy as I can’t wait to go back and read those. So if you haven’t read any of the books yet I definitely advise to start from the beginning so you understand the story behind other guys in the MC. With that being said this book blew away a lot of my expectations. I have been heavily into MC books and started to think that I may need a bit of a break away however this book reminded my why I love MC books! This book has off the charts chemistry, adrenaline rush, badass hot MC guys, and the women who love them but aren’t afraid to speak their mind!
Ghost and Jessie grew up together due to their parents marrying one another. Jessie would follow Ghost and her older brother around like any younger sister would. As time passed and Jessie started growing up Ghost took notice of these changes that made Jessie no longer that annoying younger sister (or step sister in this case). For fear of acting on this feelings and urges Ghosts decides to move out and keep his distance from Jessie. Years have passed and Ghost and Jessie have followed different paths in life however in one fatefully night Ghost sees this woman at a bar and looks like she may be in trouble and decides against his better judgement to step in and help. As luck would have it this woman is no other than Jessie who has actually been looking for Ghost. Jessie has gotten herself in some trouble and is looking to Ghost for some help. Little does Ghost know that by helping Jessie, he is not only opening and risking his heart but he is also risking his MC as well. Will Ghost be able to protect Jessie from impending danger and keep his MC out of it as well?
I really liked Ghost as soon as I meet him in this book. I can’t wait to go back to the other books and read more about Ghost and get to know him even better. Ghost is one of those guys who has a level head and will protect what is his at all costs. However he doesn’t take any bull from anyone and always wants the truth from people. I love Miss Sassy pants Jessie-her sassiness was so fun to read and it fit perfectly with Ghost’s personality. Although they would butt heads it actually made them stronger as a couple and better as individuals as well.
Overall, Ghost was an awesome story! I am so glad I was given this opportunity to read it and I am eager to start the other books in this series and learn more about these MC guys. I can only hope that in future books from this series that we still get a glimpse into Ghost and Jessie’s life.
