Title: Jax’s Dilemma
Series: Insurgents MC #2
Author: Chiah Wilder
Genre: MC Romance
Release Date: November 15, 2015
Jax’s Dilemma by Chiah Wilder is the second book in the Insurgents Motorcycle Club series however you don’t have to read the first book in order to understand this book. I don’t know what it is about MC books but they are my weakness- I just LOVE this type/style of books. With that in mind you can assume how excited I was to start this MC book.
Jax is the Sergeant-at-arms for his club and is wanted to by pretty much all women. Jax likes his women to be at his beck and call and not bring any issues or drama. However the one girl he has his eyes set on is the one who refuses to give him the time of day. Cherri, who is stripping at the club’s strip club, is hiding from her past and trying to save up enough money to start enough life. She refuses to let anything or anyone get in her way. When Jax lets his interest in her be known she can’t hope but feel something towards him but tries so hard to deny the feelings and the sexual chemistry between them. Regardless of the cat and mouse game that these two characters play with one another Jax refuses to give up on Cherri. He wants to claim her as his and will not accept failure in this mission. Just when it seems that the two of them are on the same page, life throws Cherri a huge curve ball. She feels her life and all she has worked so hard for is quickly slipping away from her. In one act of desperation she forces Jax to choose a side. Will he betray his club to protect her or will he give up his woman?
I enjoyed reading this book- there were parts of this book where I honestly wanted to smack both Jax and Cherri. I wanted them to get their lives together, talk and make it work! Having those emotions be evoked means that the author has done a good job at writing the story. Throughout the entire book I had a love/hate relationship with Jax. He was everything you would expect in a MC guy but sometimes I just wanted him to grow up a bit however at the times where his sweet side would show through I loved it. Personally for me I didn’t like how he treated Cherri at some parts but again that is the life of the MC and it is not for me or anyone to judge on. I loved how strong of a woman Cherri was; she set goals for herself and wouldn’t let a man stand in her way. Although at times she did things she wasn’t proud of she did what she had to do in order to survive. I absolutely loved that about her. If you love the MC type of book you won’t be disappointed in reading this book.
Chiah Wilder is the author of Hawk’s Property, the first book in the Insurgents MC Series. It is a full length, standalone novel. Its release date is set for October 27, 2015.
Always a lover of books, she began writing at a young age and continued through college with collections of short stories. Figuring she had to grow up and get a “real” job, her writing was placed on the back burner.
Her love of reading has always be center front in her life. Chiah’s love of bad boys both in and out of fiction has inspired her Insurgents series. She loves an alpha male whose softer side is brought out by a passionate, spirited woman. In fiction there are no rules or boundaries, and fantasies can go as far as the characters want to take them. Steamy, biker romances with rough, sexy bad boys are her guilty pleasure along with brownies, cheddar cheese, and movie marathons.
Returning to writing has been a dream come true. Writing and publishing Hawk’s Property has been an amazing journey, and she is happy to share the Insurgents family with her readers. She is busy writing her next book in the series.
