MRobinson_ForbidMe_ECoverIt was only a matter of time until the truth came out.

I never thought it would come to this…

I tried, God knows I tried to stay away from her but eventually I crossed that line and broke that trust. I could no longer go back and I sure as fuck didn’t regret a single moment of it. I knew there would be hell to pay, I knew the wrath I’d be facing but I would willingly take the burns and scars just to have the love of my best friend’s sister.

If there is one person I’d willingly go to hell and back for it was…

I will start by saying that I recommend you read the first book in this series. It will help you understand who all the characters are and the background of this group.

This is Lily and Jacobs story. While I absolutely LOVED the first book, it was harder for me to “love” this second book. Not because it didn’t have a solid storyline and swoon worthy alpha moments and some sexy love scenes but for me, the back and forth from past to present was a little much and made the book drag at times.

I totally understand that it was how the story was being told and past events were crucial to the story but for me, a large portion of the book was slower moving because of all the past/present scenes.

I will say that I loved the connection between Lily and Jacob and glad they got their HEA I just wished it had moved a little faster and there was more of the “present” to their relationship. Still a solid book though and cant wait for the next installment!

“I. Hate. You.” “No you don’t. You don’t hate me at all, Baby. What you hate is that you still love me.”

I finished the book a few days ago but needed time to process it and get my feelings in order to write this review. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. I read a book written by M. Robinson my emotions are running in high gear and I end up mad at myself for reading the book so fast. Once again after I finished this book I already was looking for a time where I could fit in a reread. Since finishing Complicate Me I have been looking forward to Forbid Me- Jacob and Lily’s story. I LOVE LOVE LOVE brother’s best friend storylines so as you can imagine I was chomping at the bit for this story and once it appeared on my kindle- goodbye reality and hello land of the Good Ol’ Boys.

Jacob and Lucas have been best friends since pretty much birth. Growing up and doing everything together their bond is thicker then some blood brothers. Lily, Lucas’s little sister, being 7 years younger than Jacob and the rest of the boys was always looked upon as a little sister to everyone. To Jacob though she was the forbidden fruit because she was so much younger than him. The story of Jacob and Lily starts when she is 15 years old and Jacob is away at college. Although that is when their story starts it is crystal clear that their love for one another started earlier than that. To be completely honest I was very unsure on how M. Robinson would be able pull off a love story with such an age gap. For those who are hesitant about reading it- do not be! M. Robinson pulled off the age gap effortlessly. It never felt wrong or dirty at all. Both parties always tried to act with the best intentions of their hearts and desires and with others in mind. Jacob wants nothing more than to be able to love Lily like he so desperately needs/wants but fears that he will loose his “brother” Lucas because to Lucas no one will ever be good enough for Lily.

The story is told from both points of views while going back and forth from present day to the past. I loved how M. Robinson told this story- it was so awesome to hear both point of views and to learn the back story of these two lovebirds while seeing them fight for each other and their love in present day. Lily may be one of my new favorite characters! She says some of the funniest things that had me chuckling long after I finished reading that part of the story. You can’t help but fall in love with Lily. Jacob is all hot alpha man. He knows what he wants and wants so desperately to claim her but he respects his best friend and fears that no on will understand the love he has for Lily. Jacob is that all around good guy who constantly puts other people’s feelings before his own. He continues to do this and when he realizes that what he feels for Lily and what she feels for him is potentially holding her back from growing and becoming someone he does something he never wanted to do. He breaks her heart and lets her go. Finally after three years Jacob realizes that by putting other people’s feelings ahead of his own he has compromised his own happiness and potentially Lily’s as well.

“I wish I could stop loving you so you know how it feels.”

If you want a book filled with love, lust, angst, friendships and family bonds this book is for you. I highly recommend reading the first book of the series (Complicate Me) before reading Forbid Me just so you can get an overall understanding of the personality and character traits of all the characters. I loved this book and can’t wait to find time to reread it again. In true M. Robinson fashion the epilogue has me speechless and biting my nails for the next story. I have a feeling that Dylan’s story will be one to wrecks our hearts. Do yourself a favor and read this series!

I took a moment when I was fully inside of her, leaning back to take a good look at her, wanting to remember her just this way, always. Her long silky brown hair spread all over my sheets, the way her cheeks were slightly flushed and how the blush crept down to her neck, how her lips were swollen from my touch and her serene eyes glazed over.

So beautiful.

So fucking beautiful.

So fucking mine.

I placed a soft kiss on the pulse on her neck, loving the feel of it beating against my lips. Her dark brown eyes watched me adoringly as I took what I needed. What she gave. I peered up at her and she shyly smiled while I kissed my way down to her breasts, taking her perfect round nipple into my mouth, making her moan. I fucking loved it when she moaned.

It made my cock twitch inside her.

“Jacob, come up here. I want to feel all your weight on me.”

I placed my body completely on hers, like I knew she loved, caging her in with my arms around her head so that my hands could caress her face. My torso touching her chest and my legs firmly locked beside hers. Every time I thrust in she could feel the mass of my body movement, inclining her a little higher each time. I softly kissed her, taking my time with each stroke of my tongue as it weaved with hers. Savoring the velvety feel of my mouth claiming hers, thrusting in and out of her tight wet core a few times before I pulled away needing to look into her eyes again. I loved seeing every emotion I felt through her gaze. It mirrored every feeling that was displayed inside of me, to a degree I never quite understood, but I didn’t care because it was there. It was for me.

Just. For. Me.
