She’s also the one I’ve hurt the most.
Two years ago, I made a disastrous mistake.
One I’m not sure I can make amends from.
But I have to try, because I’m nothing without her.
All those unresolved feelings for him have resurfaced.
Not that they ever went away.
I know I should run him out of the town, but I can’t.
He needs to know that I wasn’t the only one who was deceived.
Even if we gave our relationship another try, how can we rebuild what’s been destroyed? If we weren’t strong enough then, what makes us strong enough now?

I was really looking forward to reading Love Rekindled after I read the blurb and pretty much the moment it appeared on my kindle I jumped right into it. I LOVE love so a second chance romance novel is one I cannot pass up. Love Rekindled is the story of Brad Ashby, who broke the heart of his one true love, Taylor, when his dreams crumbled right in front of him. After many years of reflection and trying to change for the best Brad realizes that the one who he pushed away is the one who he doesn’t want to live without. When Brad breaks Taylor’s heart she quickly wants to move on with her life leaving Brad in the past forever. As time goes by and Brad realizes the biggest mistake of his life lead him to loosing everything he never knew he wanted and needed, Brad makes it his mission to win Taylor back. I absolutely loved how honest Michelle Lynn made Brad’s character-he owned up to all his mistakes and demons and realized how important it was/is to continue to strive to be the best he can be regardless of what life throws at you. I have such a crush on Brad and couldn’t help but root for him as he tried to win Taylor back! I loved Taylor as a main heroine in the book because she was such a strong, fierce, and awesome person. She took the cards that life dealt her and handled them with grace and class. As you read the story you can’t help but feel and cheer for Taylor as well. The book is filled with life lessons, twists, love, and forgiveness-personally its everything that I look for in a second chance romance book.
I’m so glad I was given the opportunity to read this book- it was just the perfect pick me up book that I was looking for. If you are a fan of love you will enjoy this book! Michelle Lynn did such an amazing job writing this story and I truly can’t sing her praise enough. This is my first time reading a book written by her and it surely won’t be my last!!
I’m a cheater. There. I said it. Two years ago, I fell into a hole, and as fast as my fingers clawed to escape, the dirt continued to pile on me. I’m not saying it’s an excuse.
I’m not even saying she should forgive me. Although, I hope she does. But I can’t live without her anymore. I tried. I found a girl and proposed to her, while imagining the delicate finger I slid the ring on belonged to someone else. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t go through with marrying anyone but her. For sure, I never thought I’d say this, but I’m nothing without her. She brings out the good in me. That’s why I’m here, in some small-ass town, to grovel my way back into her heart.
She’s different now, and I’m not referring to the disappearance of her bleached blonde hair back to her natural brown. I loved her as a blonde, but the dark suits her better. I wouldn’t care if she had rainbow-colored hair. I’m not sitting outside the hospital where she works, watching her walk to her car like some stalker, because she’s gorgeous. I’m here because of her heart and kindness. That’s what I’m fighting to get back. The package it comes in is just an added bonus.
Her ponytail swings back and forth as she laughs with what I hope is a co-worker, unless she’s turned lesbian in the last two years. She waves good-bye to the girl and throws her purse into the passenger seat of her Jetta. The car has a little more rust than it did back in the day, but it’s held up well. Still, it’s old and she deserves something newer.
She pulls out of her parking space, and my heart constricts as I watch her drive away from me again. I should duck down so she doesn’t see me, but my eyes won’t veer from her. The beat-up Jetta passes and my stomach clenches. My hand itches to yank the car handle open. My feet beg to disobey and run to her. I don’t have to, because she slams on the breaks and her eyes are locked on mine. Hope pours from mine while hers fume with anger.
The equations are simple.
Piper Ashby + Brad Ashby = Twin Siblings
Brad Ashby + Tanner McCain = Best Friends
Piper Ashby + Tanner McCain = Off limits
Tanner and I abided by the rules. We stayed on our designated sides of the relationship circle.
Ignoring swarming butterflies.
Brushing off skipped heartbeats.
Settling on lingering stares.
Here’s the secret … a hand extended over that invisible line once, exponentially changing the equation. I was convinced we could make our relationship work until Tanner broke the trust he embedded in me from the age of seven.
One deceit of mega proportions and the relationship we built for that short month vanished. I swore never to speak to him again and it’s worked. Until now—two years later, when my brother’s wedding places me face-to-face with the best man—Tanner McCain.
Leaving one equation to be solved. Can love surface twice?
