Xanthe is going to her first author signing in quite a while after she signs her paranormal series with a publisher. She’s also found the perfect cover model, Oliver Fairfax. He’s a photographer and reluctant model but when he runs into Xanthe for the first time, he does his usual pretentious asshole dismissal of her. Oliver has no idea that the quirky, feisty chick he chats up on the airplane is the author that he’s under contract with. With all of the secrets between them and a connection that seems soul deep, will these two be able to find a way to trust one another enough to last a lifetime?

“It was said that a picture was worth a thousand words. To me, there were no words more poignant than Xanthe’s.

Every word she had ever spoken to me was something precious.

Every word she had ever written was something I craved to read.

I had a hundred thousand words of Xanthe to develop, and I cherished each second I spent with her in my dark room, hearing her voice, even in the silence that enshrouded me.

‘I felt it, too.’”

I loved the whole mystery/angst of this story. Oliver is the perfect mix of alpha male that goes off like a big manchild when he misunderstands something and then fifteen minutes later, it’s oh no, what have I done. But when he commits, that boy commits. Xanthe has secrets and insecurities. I really loved her. She’s the quirky, nerdy girl that is secretly cool as hell and has the friends who’ve got her back. With the whole mystery going on with Xanthe and her friends, I would love for there to be more. I want to know what’s going on with Rex and the rest of the gang. I don’t want the story to end. To me, that’s the sign of a great story.

If you want to read a really great rock trilogy with lots of angst, you should check out the NOLA’s Own books by Kelli Jean. My emotions were all over the place when I read them. It’s a really great series and I love her writing style.

About The Author

KelliJeanBorn and raised in Miami, Kelli Jean traded the tropical heat for the arctic. Now she deals with twenty-four hour daylight in the summer, zero sunlight in the winter, and believes the Northern Lights make up for the mind-boggling amount of ice and snow she has to put up with for seven months out of the year.

She’s surrounded by mountains and ocean and sheep, and claims her bizarre sense of humor is what keeps her sane.

The insane don’t know they’re insane.

Kelli uses her imagination to create worlds she can escape to from the mundane tasks of everyday life, such as washing the damn dishes and vacuuming up Legos off the floor–and don’t get her started on the mad amount of cat hair on the end of the couch. She gave up on that a long time ago. When the household goes to sleep at night, she writes down everything that happened in her head while doing such tedious chores. But she enjoys living in her own head, so that’s pretty cool.

Technology terrifies her. She can barely turn on a computer, and was completely shocked when she’d actually written a book on one. To this day, she has no explanation for this baffling mystery. It took her three years to realize she can take screen shots of messages and pictures of bearded, tattooed men with her phone. Now that she’s mastered this task, her phone is slowly dying, and she’s nervous that she’s going to have to buy a new one and it will take her another three years to learn how to use it.
