Tall and short.
Inked and unmarked.
Golden and porcelain.
Soft dreads and wild red.
Dark and… darker.
Keeping more secrets than a teenage girl’s diary, Harlow Cooper hides a lot behind her bubbly personality. College student and intern. Loyal friend and loving daughter. Fangirl and girly girl. Lover of strong coffee and even stronger margaritas. Former bartender and current… Well, let’s just say she’s suddenly in need of pasties and an industrial sized drum of glitter.
Quick with a smile and joke, people assume Kase Teo is all ego with a slacker follow-through. But lurking behind his hauntingly beautiful blue eyes is an ocean. Knowledge, quick wit, experience, pain… There are depths to Kase that most don’t see. If there’s one thing he’s learned, it’s that life’s all about appreciating the beauty.
For Kase, that means going after the redhead that’s set up residence in his mind. And his fantasies.
Now he needs her to see life’s more than just a best case scenario.

Kase is a flirty guy who works at Hyde’s Garage with a bunch of hot mechanics. Until he sees Harlow and he knows that she could be the one. He tries to avoid her but Harlow has secrets of her own. Harlow gets a job as a stripper and doesn’t tell anyone. Wouldn’t you know it, Kase walks in and now her secret is blown. Will Kase find out all of the secrets Harlow has been keeping?
“I’d been shocked as shit stepping in that night to see a creamy skinned, natural redhead up on stage.
My surprise had quickly shifted to a mix of pissed way the fuck off and turned way the fuck on when the redhead had gyrated her fine ass around and I’d seen who she was.
Smart. Funny. Sexy as hell.
The bane of my mother fucking existence.
Months she’d been torturing me.
Months I’d spent wanting her.
I was a grown ass man with a fuckin’ crush, on the verge of passing her a note to ask if she liked me too. I’d even started hanging out in the hallway at Hyde to accidentally see her when she visited Pipe.
Running in the same circle meant she was supposed to be off limits to me. I’d never risk fucking up my group of friends over some random piece.
They were my family.
Harlow wasn’t hookup pussy, though. And, after not being able to shake her from my thoughts, I knew it was more than a crush
I wanted her.”
Kase seems like the biggest sweetheart. The guy with his whole life in order and just waiting for the right girl to fill his heart. Harlow keeps everything inside. She’s not a sharer…not even with her best friend Piper. It’s so adorable that Kase has this plan for the long game. He’s the best person to break down Harlow’s walls and sneak into her heart.
I love finding out about the other guys in this series. They all seem to have some secrets and defenses to break down but those are always the best ones in the long run. Great books that I can’t wait for the next one to come and then the next!
“Wake up, Zuul.”
“No. No Zuul. No one here but us mice,” I mumbled, pulling the blanket over my head. When Kase yanked it away, I gripped the fitted sheet and rolled, taking it with me.
“You can sleep all you want, no need to trash my room.”
“I’m a rock star.”
“I thought you were a mouse.”
“Right now I’m feeling more like a burrito.” Kicking the sheet off, I sat up and rubbed my eyes. “Maybe a sushi roll.”
Leaning down, Kase put his fists to the bed on either side of me. His dreads slid across his shoulders to hang down. “You always this difficult to wake up in the morning?”
About The Author
Growing up, Layla used to hide under her blanket with a flashlight to read the Sweet Valley High books she pilfered from her older sister. It wasn’t long before she was reading hidden Harlequins during class at school. This snowballed into pulling all-nighters after the promise of “just one more chapter”.
Her love of reading, especially the romance genre, took root early and has grown immeasurably.
In between reading and writing, Layla spends her free time rocking out(at concerts, on the couch, in the car… Anywhere is a stage if you get into it enough), watching TV(the nerdier the better!), and being a foodie. Though she lives in NY(the state, not the city), she’s an avid Red Sox fan.
