Series: Romance Elements #2
Author: Brittainy C. Cherry
Release Date: March 25, 2016
Logan Francis Silverstone and I were complete opposites. I danced, and he stood still. He was quiet, while I ran my mouth. He struggled to find a smile, and I refused to frown.
The night I saw the darkness that truly lived inside of him, I couldn’t look away.
We were broken together, yet somehow whole. We were wrong together, but always right. We were the stars that burned across the night sky, searching for a wish, praying for better tomorrows.
Until the day I lost him. He threw us away with one hasty decision–a decision that changed us forever.
There once was a boy, and I loved him.
And for a few breaths, a few whispers, a few moments, I think he loved me, too.

“Thanks for tonight. You have no clue how much I needed this. You have no clue how much I needed you.”
To say that I could not put this book down would be an understatement. I carried my phone around with me everywhere I went so I could continue reading and finding out what would happen to the characters who quickly became embedded into my heart. I thought my newborn kept me up at night- well he does but so did this book. I kept telling myself just finish this paragraph or finish this chapter and when I would eventually put my phone down my mind could not stop thinking about what was going on with the story. That right there is proof that Brittiany Cherry has the ability to write stories that make readers become 100% invested in the characters and story. The Fire Between High and Lo quickly became one of my favorite reads and I honestly can’t wait to reread it.
It is so hard to put into words how much this book rocked my world. I can only hope my review gives it some justice but please do yourself a HUGE favor and read this book. The Fire Between High and Lo is the story of Logan and Alyssa. To the outside world these two characters could not be anymore different however their chemistry (not just sexual) but true heart to heart emotional connection chemistry is one that many people could only wish to experience in their lifetime. Both Logan and Alyssa experienced more hardships and disappointments then anyone should ever face however they were always there being the light in the darkness for one another. They made each other feel worthy and whole until one decision changed that and ultimately drove them apart. This decision and baggage of the past keeps both Alyssa and Logan apart. Although physically and mentally they may be apart when you have such a deep connection with another soul can you ever be apart emotionally? Will the decisions and baggage of the past keep apart what was once a great love or will time, distance, and fate bring them back together?
I feel in love with Brittiany Cherry’s writing after reading her book The Air He Breathes. That book is one of my all time favorite books of all time however The Fire Between High and Lo is right now there with The Air He Breathes. I honestly cannot stop thinking about this book and its characters. This book had everything that I personally look for in a book and I felt so invested in the characters’ stories and lives. I loved how the book ended however I didn’t want it to end. I kept swiping my finger across my screen hoping that more words and pages would appear. I cannot wait to see what else Brittiany has in the future for us. She has quickly become one of my go to authors and I cannot wait for more stories!
