Alannah’s life changed at age 11 she met outcast Dominic when she started a new school. He protects her from a bully because no one messes with Dominic. They form a bond that no one can break although Dominic has mafia connections and Alannah knows he is involved in some “bad stuff”. When she turns 15, Alannah finally admits to Dominic that she has romantic feelings for him but her Dad is transferred to Alaska. After being separated for 10 years, will their feelings survive despite no contact? Are they truly soul mates or has Dominic been sucked too far into the Mafia lifestyle to be redeemed?
“As I get ready to fly to stupid Alaska, I’m worried you’ll forget about everything good we’ve experienced. I’m worried that when I leave, you’ll change, and I’m scared to death of what might happen when I’m gone.
I need you to hang on to the parts of you that I love. I know there’s things about you that I choose to ignore, but please know that I love EVERYTHING about you. I love your smile, and your sense of humor, and your willingness to open up and be honest. I love your loyalty and your protectiveness. I love your passion. I love YOU, Dominic. Please don’t ever forget that. Don’t forget that I love you, and don’t forget the things I love about you.
Please don’t forget.”
Mafia romances are sort of my weakness. I blame “The Godfather”. Alannah and Dominic are soul mates who are ripped apart by circumstances that they never saw coming. Dominic is the epitome of great mafia romantic hero. I love that he worries about Alannah’s safety and how to protect her from his enemies and his family. He values loyalty above all, and it doesn’t matter that he’s had to do some shady things in the past. He is redeemable. Alannah knows his heart. The roller coaster of who is after Dominic and if he can find his way out of this mess was a great ride. I would definitely love to read more about these two.
If you like suspense and a little romance, this was a really good mafia book. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for Dominic around the corner. Who knew all of this was going on in St. Louis?
“This novel had an authenticity to it that I really enjoyed, and I like that the author didn’t write an over-glamorized view of the mafia lifestyle.” – Goodreads Reviewer

“This book has it all action, humor, sexual chemistry and one sexy alpha!!” – Alpha Book Club
