Masen and Booth have been together since she was sixteen years old but a breakup while he’s deployed ends up with a separation neither wanted. Ten years later, Booth has left the military and back to his hometown. But Booth is married now and both still have feelings for each other. Will they succumb to their pull to each other or is it time to go their separate ways?
“I’d always harbored a secret hope that one day he would come back and let me explain. Let me try to grovel my way back into his life.
But now, with him married, that was never going to happen.
Wow. This story was very unexpected. This relationship made me all sorts of frustrated because the two of them have such combustible interactions. There’s all sort of scorching looks and passion but then one of them says something and they are off running. Everyone around them can see they are soulmates. What I really liked about this book is you not only get the second chance lovers storyline, but we also get some twists and mystery going on. Other little side stories are happening too and my curiosity was piqued. I always want a little more so besides the feisty dealings going between Booth (truly red-hot alpha material here) and Masen, I got some intrigue. Definitely made me want to read faster and not put the book down.
I really feel hooked on this series. Who wouldn’t want to read about some sexy fire fighters? The side characters are charismatic enough that I will be checking back in to find out what’s in store for Booth’s brother and the “brothers” that work with them.
