I read every novel I could. I lived and breathed every song that I could listen to. The sounds filled up my unquiet mind.
Then came him.
He brought with him the beauty of silence that echoed through my soul and showed me love wasn’t complicated. It was simple. Beautiful.
Some say love at first sight didn’t exist. That you couldn’t find your soul mate at sixteen years old. Those were people rooted in reality, chained to the confines of life that dictated how you were meant to think. Killian broke those chains. He broke everything. Shattered it so I could see that reality was overrated. That daydreams could somehow come to life.
My life tumbled into darkness in the time after I met him. So dark I thought I’d never see the light again. But he was always at my side. His life meant he knew how to navigate the dark. Lead me out.
I waded through the darkness with him at my side.
We’d be together forever, I was certain of that.
Until I wasn’t.

Like a lot or probably most readers I like when a blurb catches my attention right away and I really like taking a chance on an Author I’ve never read before but what tops it all off is when I fall in love with the characters and their story. That was the case for Echoes of Silence, this was my first read by this amazingly talented Author and I absolutely loved this book.
Lexie and her Mom are new to their small town and one night when their car breaks down they end up in a repair shop owned by none other then the Sons of Templar the towns MC. While waiting at the shop Lexie finds herself talking to the most beautiful boy she has ever seen.
“No one, no boy had ever looked at me the way he was looking at me right then. I didn’t know people actually looked at other people like that.”
Killian can’t believe his luck when Lex or Freckles as he likes to call her ends up in the shop where he works to have her Mom’s car fixed. Drawn to her right away he quickly starts a conversation with her and the sparks between the two of them fly like crazy. Through several circumstances they start spending more and more time together and their relationship quickly grows.
“ Anywhere that I am, that I belong, automatically comes with a place for you.”
Though this book was a little tamer then most other MC books I have read it fit the story because it mostly centered around Lex and Killian both of whom were pretty young when the story began. I mean don’t get me wrong there was some crazy ass shit that happens but mostly I feel like it was a story of growing up ,falling in love and finding yourself. I really loved watching these two grow together. Kill was so patient with Lex but sometimes treated her like she may break, like he thought because of his background he didn’t deserve someone like her. But she loved him something fierce and saw nothing but the good in him and wanted to just be with him. With her help Kill finally finds a happiness that he never knew existed and he truly loves Lex with all his heart.
“ I wish you could live your beautiful life not knowing what lies on the other side of reality. The darker side.”
While Kill is pursuing his dream of being patched into the Sons, Lex has been pursuing her dream of being a singer when she starts a band with some friends she makes at school. While both of extremely supportive of one another Kill starts to feel like he is holding Lex back. He doesn’t want her to end up spending her life in some two bit town and then looking back ten years down the road with regrets of what could have been. So when Lex is given the opportunity of a lifetime Kill makes a decision that shatters everything they believe to be true.
“ You don’t want roots when you’ve already got wings. When you’re poised to take flight.”
I loved Lex and Kill, hell I loved just about all the characters in this book. I have to say the relationship between Lex and her Mom was awesome and such a huge part of the story. The banter between the two had me laughing out loud several times. This was such a great read and I laughed, cried and swooned. I will say that huge ass cliffhanger we were left with almost killed me, I mean come on why you got to go and do that to me Anne Malcom? I need book two bad!! Fantastic read and can’t wait for more!
Anne Malcom has been an avid reader since before she can remember, her mother responsible for her book addiction. It started with magical journeys into the world of Hogwarts and Middle Earth; then as she grew up her reading tastes grew with her. Her obsession with books and romance novels in particular gave Anne the opportunity to find another passion, writing. Finding writing about alpha males and happily ever afters more fun than reading about them, Anne is not about to stop any time soon. Raised in small town New Zealand, Anne had a truly special childhood, growing up in one of the most beautiful countries in the world. She has backpacked across Europe, ridden camels in the Sahara, eaten her way through Italy, and had all sorts of crazy adventures. For now, she’s back at home in New Zealand and quite happy. But who knows when the travel bug will bite her again?
