Distraction by Nicole Edwards ~Blog Tour w/ Review & Giveaway

Title: Distraction
Series: Club Destiny
Author: Nicole Edwards
Genre: Adult, Erotic Romance
Published: January 31, 2017

Time doesn’t always heal a broken heart. Sometimes the only thing it does is fill the darkness with more shadows, more pain.

Dylan Thomas has spent the past decade living in the shadows, mourning the loss of his wife, his best friend, his very reason for breathing. He long ago accepted that he would never feel again, that he was damned to a world without light, without hope. That was the day the bottle won, and he gave himself over to the darkness.

Until the one night that rocked his brittle, crumbling world on its axis. She told him what they shared was simply a distraction, a way to forget for a little while. It would’ve been, except the tiny glimpse of how it feels to live again, to feel again, gives him the strength he needs to pull himself up by his boot straps. But sobriety comes one day at a time, and three years later may be three years too late.

Still grieving after his wife, Dylan sank into a depression three years ago that sent his life skidding off the rails. Poor Sarah had tried to be his friend but after they had sex, he pushed her away after she called what they did a “distraction”. When they finally reconnect, both feel a pull towards each other and can’t seem to stop from giving their friendship another try. Are they friends? Can they be more than a distraction?

“I need you to tell me that’s okay to be me again. I can’t keep hiding from everyone. I need something…someone. I know Sarah doesn’t deserve the hell I’ll likely inflict on her, but…I want her in my life. There. I said it. It’s true. I want to feel alive again and …God, Meg…she makes me feel that way. I didn’t think it was even possible.”

I can’t believe this is the last Club Destiny book…so bittersweet. I am so glad that Dylan got his new beginning with Sarah. Dylan’s depression and inability to move on was heartbreaking. They both had lost a spouse but unfortunately couldn’t seem to talk about it. This story was very emotional with not only Dylan’s journey through grief, depression and learning how to allow himself to love again but with Sarah’s anger over losing her husband. I felt so much for both characters! And Jake and Nate?!?! I had my hopes and want to know more about those two guys! I’m beyond excited for Tristan’s spin off series. This story is a great ending…a great new beginning.

I won’t be giving up on Dylan. Nicole teased a new series with Tristan which I’m going to keep my eagle eyes on the lookout for. I can’t believe the direction Dylan and Sarah’s life takes! Always keeping me on my toes.
