Until it was too late.
Except, I didn’t choose this life.
Overall Rating- 5
As always and in M. Robinson fashion we are transported into a world where we feel as if we are living through the characters not just peeking in on their world. You can’t help but be enthralled by the story that M. Robinson has started to lay down for us. From the prologue and the first few chapters I was captivated and honestly didn’t want to do anything else but read. El Santo is the first part of Damien and Amira story. These two met under, what I would consider the most intense and unfathomable situation, that you can’t help but wonder what would become of them as individuals and potentially together. They are bonded for life regardless of what happens to them because of what they both witnessed and experienced. I love how detailed M. Robinson gets while telling the story. Personally, it usually takes me awhile to warm up to the heroine in a story than the hero. However in this book I immediately took a liking to Amira. Her personality and characteristic traits make her extremely reliable and likeable. I was took an instant liking to her and immediately wanted her to find the happiness in life she deserves. Damien is such an interesting and deep character. There are so many layers to him- just when you think you have him figured out he goes and flips the script. I loved how interesting and dynamic these characters are. This book will get you hooked from the start and will not let you go!
Honestly, each phrase and word that is written is weaved together to create a beautiful story that leaves us, the readers, wanting more. The story moves along so quickly I kept looking down to see where I was in the book and thought my goodness I cannot be done with their story… I want more! Luckily, we aren’t finished with Damien and Amira, their story will continue in El Pecador which is set to release in January. To be honest I was shocked when I came to the end and realized that this was a duet however— I am SO happy it is! I wasn’t finished with their story and I can’t wait to see what lays ahead and where M. Robinson takes this story next!
