Something inside me snapped.
“Chase, I need you. Please, come.”
Teagan’s words screamed from the screen of my phone. My heart started pounding and I started to sweat. I felt like I might pass out as I was sucked into a vortex of emotions and memories I’d tried desperately to forget.
Teagan Tessler was the love of my life. My professional soccer career was a big part of the future we planned to have together, but an offer with Arsenal, one of England’s premier soccer teams, sent me to London a year ahead of schedule. Just months after I left, Teagan betrayed me with my best friend without an explanation. I was completely and utterly destroyed.
Six years later, I can finally breathe again and my professional and personal life is in a good place; but, now this. I’d have to be insane to even consider ripping open those old wounds, but whatever she needed, it had to be huge.
The truth of my feelings resonated: I should shut off the phone and forget her forever, but my traitorous heart told me to get on a plane, no questions asked.
One decision can ruin your life… Maybe another one can save it.

Teagan and Chase were young and madly in love. They were certain they would be together forever and had their whole future planned out. Chase was a professional soccer player and when the opportunity of a lifetime came along, Teagan made a choice that she truly thought was best for the person she loved most in life. But with one lie, one ultimate betrayal, she broke more than just her own heart.
“Chase, I need you. Please come.”
Six years passed since Chase last saw the love of his life, the women that had owned and then shattered his heart. But with one text he was headed towards Teagan and was completely unprepared for what awaited him when they came face to face again.
“As the years passed, I got better at pushing the pain down and hiding it from others, but it was always there, eating away at my soul like a disease.”
Teagan has been keeping a secret, a huge one that she never wanted Chase to find out but now she has no choice. When they meet back up after six long years tension is super high but it’s also so apparent that they still love each other very much. But once the secret is out can Chase possibly forgive her?
“ Tell me not to go, and I won’t go. You’re the most important thing to me.”
This was my first read by this Author. It was an emotional story with two people who were desperately in love and both only doing what they thought was best for the other. I liked the characters and the story but had a hard time feeling the connection between Teagan and Chase. It just wasn’t there for me as much as I wanted to be, so I did struggle in parts with this book. It was a good read overall and I did like it, I just didn’t love it. If you are in the mood for an emotional and heartfelt story this may be the one for you.
