Heroes don’t last long around here…
Fall in love with the sexiest girl in New Orleans?
Prepare to die for her?
Larissa is the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen.
She’s the rising star of the Pussycat Angels, the hottest burlesque show in the French Quarter.
I’ll never forget the first time I saw her.
The curve of her breast outlined by sparkling rhinestones.
Slim hips wrapped in black fishnets.
Long, dark hair…
She’s the Dark Angel who stole my heart.
Her body is intoxicating, our love overwhelming.
Cat eyes and blood red lips.
Sizzling fingers on white-hot skin.
I couldn’t keep my hands off her…
But her fame had a dark side,
A sinister shadow lurking under the lights.
I would do anything to save her…
He would do anything to see me dead.

Tia nails it with Under the Lights! I cant wait to get book two and see what happens next. Although this book is listed as second-chance romance, I didn’t get that impression. Maybe book two….. But with the ending of this one Im not so sure. Larissa and Mark are definitely trying to start something up but the odds are NEVER in their favor. At all.
Larissa is working her booty off to make sure a little one stays safe. Work hard, keep your head down, and don’t cause a fuss is most definitely her motto. But when she is thrust into the limelight her motto gets thrown out the window. Shes a top commodity, and theres nothing she can do about it.
Mark is doing his best to make ends meat when he meets Larissa. She quickly becomes his almost near obsession. Shes sweet, nice, and all that is good in his world. Taking on a job to stay close to her is a good idea at first…. but then its not anymore. He wants more and he will do anything to keep her safe and happy.
I really felt for these two. I love their story. Although neither of them is in the best life situation they try to make their own slice of heaven to enjoy. Even if for a little while. Super intense chemistry, but I felt like it was a little forced at times. But that didn’t deter me in the least. I still loved the book and am really looking for the second. I have to know how this plays out. I love a good duet! They keep me on my toes for the most part and definitely wanting more.
