The first time I met Ian Kemp in the sparkling blue waters of St. Thomas, I was six years old and we shared a summer beneath the stars.
The second time I met Ian Kemp, he was a shell of the boy I once knew. Turbulent and infuriating, he refused my friendship at every turn. Like me, he was a casualty of life’s cruelty, but we were planets apart.
We’d both sought refuge on the island, hoping to find our anchor. Instead, we found each other and managed to reclaim our stars…until we both got swept away.

This. Book. OMG! I loved it. Kate proves yet again just why she is a must read author. Her stories are addicting, heart felt, funny and filled with angst that brings me to tears. I love her words. This story though, hit really close to home. After having Endo for literally half my life, I recognized the struggles and it made my heart ache. I wish no one would have to feel that pain and for Kate to make me feel it with words alone was beautiful.

These characters felt like real every day people with real every day struggles. So relatable! I felt their every feeling. Simply put, I love this story so much. It was beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time. The humor had me giggling, the angst had me in tears. Just all the feels.

Kate will always be a number one author for me because she writes books about real people I can relate to. Connect with. I almost felt a bond with the characters and that doesn’t happen often.
