Sofia Kendrick has always cherished her tiara. As the youngest daughter of a wealthy New York family, she’s lived the life of an American princess. But after two scandalous divorces and a breakup smear her name across the society rags, the shine from her crown has dulled. People call her superficial, even gaudy.

She’s nothing more than tinsel.

Desperate for escape and starving for peace, Sofia heads to Montana for a holiday weekend with her brother. But she doesn’t get the relaxing vacation she planned. Instead, she’s put to work in a bar alongside Dakota Magee—a man who does not want her help. A man who is set on teaching her a few lessons about real life and hard work. But Sofia has a couple of life lessons of her own to teach. Like how to fall in love.

Sofia Kendrick was always the princess of the family. She saw her father, brother and then her sister spend their lives wrapped up in their work and she vowed to never get caught up in the machine. She was the shiny, beautiful one. But then her crown got tarnished after scandals and fake friends. Escaping to Montana, she meets Dakota Magee. He’s a man who works hard and can teach her lesson about real life. But Dakota also has secrets he’s running from.

“She was an enigma. A puzzle.

She was a woman who had everything in the world at her fingertips and yet seemed so…miserable and lonely. She seemed so lost.”

Amazing! Like all of the Lark Cove books, I fall in love with each and every character. I’m still a little teary eyed like Sofia at the end of Tinsel. Both Sofia and Dakota broke me at several times in this story. Their experiences were so heartbreaking and you could tell they had a lot of emotional baggage from their past. What surprised me the most was how strongly I felt for Sofia’s dilemma. In the past few books she came across as shallow and selfish, but I found her to be totally redeemable in this story and truly cared for her happiness. I enjoyed the roller coaster of emotions I felt while these two grew closer and you can’t miss this one if you are following the Lark Cove series.

If you haven’t given Devney Perry’s books a try, what are you waiting for? They are so beautifully written and after each one I feel like I can’t wait for another one to escape with.
