“Lust is an emotion, therefore it does not follow logic, or common sense. It’s wild and unpredictable. And that’s what’s so damn scary about it.”
Kayla’s story just about killed me. I loved it…of course…but my heart was all twisted up with Oscar and Matt and her relationship with her mom. Such an emotionally touching story about broken people and being brave enough to move forward. I won’t even tell you how many times I said “nooooo!!!” out loud. I wanted to tug Kayla aside and say “make good choices!” But our heroines never listen to us. Despite my angst, this book is an entertaining page turner with characters you can’t help but fall in love with. And I really fell for one guy in particular. Wow.
Roya Carmen always sucks me in these angsty relationships and people making emotional decisions. It’s like an accident I can’t look away from. I literally pick up the book and can’t read it non-stop with my hands covering my eyes half the time. She gets me every single time.
