At a time when I was skimming through half the books I was reading, this little gem came along and what a treat it was!! I effing loved this book and you will too! Definitely a must read. While this is a standalone, I may go back and read them rest now that I get the gist of this series.
Kyle and Chloe are the stars in this book and boy, do they shine! Kyle and Chloe evidentially had a good time in high school that went terribly wrong and literally left Chloe absolutely hating his guts. Actual hate lol. Chloe comes from the wrong side of the tracks and is the only one in her family who has made anything of herself. Her sister is pretty much a lost cause and Chloe helps her raise her kids. She is a spitfire and I laughed at so much that came out of her mouth. She is definitely a good egg and Kyle’s sites are set on her now that they are older.
Kyle…omg I love, love, love him. He moves in next door to Chloe and is determined to make up for his mistake in the past and have Chloe like him. I can not say enough about the raw, gritty feelings these two start out having towards each other. You could literally feel the hate she has for him but little by little Kyle and his charm wear her (and her panties) down. I could not have loved more watching these two find there footing with each other now that they are adults. It is the absolute perfect wrong side of the tracks love story and just soooo much more added in…love, heartache, loss, sadness, hopelessness…such an emotional love story. There is so much to their story and their struggle that I highly suggest adding this to your to be read list!!
