Meet Cute by Helena Hunting ~ Release Blitz w/ 4.5 Star Review!

The New York Times bestselling author of Pucked and The Good Luck Charm delivers a Hollywood happily-ever-after where a famous heartthrob falls for his ultimate fangirl in this sexy standalone romantic comedy.

Talk about an embarrassing introduction. On her first day of law school, Kailyn ran – quite literally – into the actor she crushed on as a teenager, ending with him sprawled on top of her. Mortified to discover the Daxton Hughes was also a student in her class, her embarrassment over their meet-cute quickly turned into a friendship she never expected. Of course, she never saw his betrayal coming either…

Now, eight years later, Dax is in her office asking for legal advice. Despite her anger, Kailyn can’t help feeling sorry for the devastated man who just became sole guardian to his thirteen-year-old sister. But when her boss gets wind of Kailyn’s new celebrity client, there’s even more at stake than Dax’s custody issues: if she gets Dax to work at their firm, she’ll be promoted to partner.

The more time Kailyn spends with Dax and his sister, the more she starts to feel like a family, and the more she realizes the chemistry they had all those years ago is as fresh as ever. But will they be able to forgive the mistakes of the past, or will one betrayal lead to another?

From the first embarrassing encounter, Kailyn and Dax were thrown together in college. Quickly they become competitive classmates until Dax betrays her and Kailyn moves on in her new job. Eight years later, tragedy has struck and Dax is in her legal office for advice. While begrudgingly helping Dax, Kailyn is pulled into different directions with a boss who wants her to woo Dax to their legal team and helping to guide him into guardianship of his sister. Will they be able to move on from past mistakes or are they cursed to keep secrets that will only hurt one another?

“I’m attracted to the man I’ve gotten to know, the one who clearly loves his sister and will do anything for her. The one who gets riled up and riles me. The same man who knocked me over in the quad all those years ago and who told me I had pretty eyes.”

Usually I can count on Helena Hunting for hilarious romantic comedies. This story just had more emotion and grit and I loved it so much more! After tragedy strikes, Dax has to step up and how he loves his sister, parents and cares for people around him makes him more attractive than just a former teen heartthrob. Kailyn is jaded from her college interactions with Dax but the chemistry they had is still sparking away. These two just fit together and the way they want what’s best for Emme just pulled my heartstrings. This story is about love, laughter, family and fighting to protect those closest to us. Just freaking beautiful.

If you like those emotional stories that push your “feels” button, you will enjoy this new book by Helena Hunting. It has just enough angst to pull for Dax and Kailyn to come together without leaving you in a bucket of tears. My kind of book.
