Life was a bit of a rough start for Kevin Clearwater. Nine didn’t have a real family of his own until he finally hooked up with his unknown brother Preppy. Now he’s trying to live up to the family’s legacy. And in walks Lenny and missing money that his family invested. Nine is determined to track it down. But he discovers things aren’t as they appear and in typical Clearwater style, Nine’s life has got a little more complicated.

“I don’t know if he’s anchoring me to the bed or to him, but regardless of which, it’s him not wanting to let me go.

And for the first time, I don’t want to run.”

I love submerging myself in the King series world. As soon as I started reading the first few words, I could feel that happiness bubble up in my heart. These characters are my friends and I’ve been wanting Kevin’s book for so long. Both hero and heroine come from broken backgrounds…Kevin in the foster system and Lenny after her beautiful home life was abruptly ripped from her at eighteen. Nine really wormed his way into my soul…that man. I cried tears reading the life he had to survive just to get to Preppy and the gang. This story was gritty but not as harsh as Preppy and the rest and I devoured every single word. And the twist?!?! OMG…I did not see that coming. It was fun seeing the guys settled down in their married lives…well, as much as they can settle down. I loved catching up with each and every one of them and really want more stories from this world. I’ll never tire of hearing about this beautiful family and how they grow closer every year.

Anyone who hasn’t fell in love with T.M. Frazier’s writing is really missing out. There’s so many twists and emotional pulling of the heartstrings that it’s a series you don’t want to skip.

Excerpt

I look up into his dark eyes. “This is a dangerous game of cat and mouse we’re playing.”

“More like a game of cat and bird,” he corrects.

I straighten my posture, my nipples grazing his hard chest. “And we all know how that turns out in the end. The cat eats the bird.”

Nine lightly scrapes his nails over my bare arms before pressing them into my skin. I gasp at the slight bite of pain. “No, the pretty bird swoops down from nowhere and sinks her sharp talons into the cat, marking him for life.”

There’s no sarcasm in his voice. I don’t know how to begin to process what it is he’s saying. It takes all of my concentration to get out my next few words.

“And…and then what?”

Nine picks me up off the floor in one quick motion, flipping me back onto the bed. He crawls over my body, hovering above me, pinning my wrists to the mattress. He grazes his teeth over the sensitive spot behind my ear. He lowers his voice to a deliciously deep rumble that has me vibrating with his every word.

“And then he eats her.”
