I wholeheartedly have to agree with some of the other reviews I have read about this book. I was intrigued by the storyline but something was missing. A spark between the main characters? More of an understanding of the background of them? More chemistry? I can’t put my finger on it but something was missing.

Pearl is a rich girl who grew up spoiled her whole life. Due to a tragedy, she is set to take over the family company until her hotter then hell stepbrother shows up to claim – or should I say “try to claim” what is rightfully his. He evidently has been MIA for a long time and there are hints here and there of why he left and where he was. You never get a clear cut picture of it all.

What is clear is that there was definitely more then a stepsister/brother relationship between these two and something went horribly wrong and now they hate each other. Or do they? The basis of the story has soooo much potential but was just jumbled too much and did not flow well for me. By the end it got a little better but not much. I do want to follow this series but I’m hoping future books are not only a little longer but are more detailed and flow much better. Also, I need to feel more chemistry between these two. I definitely felt it was missing in this story. This story was a great idea but something didn’t connect for me.
