This has a “Girl Code” storyline. When Blanca gets an invite to go stay with a childhood friend who she lost touch and has recently reconnected with she jumps at the chance. On her way, she has an encounter with a guy who checks all her boxes and has an immediate attraction to. But once she arrives, she forgets all about him until she gets to her new job. Not only does she work at the same company as Mr. Hottie but she finds herself working directly with him.

Ethan is still dealing with fallout from a breakup. He is not well liked at work and deals with family issues. He meets a woman who he immediately has a pull towards and coincidentally finds out that this same women now works for him. But Ethan has a strict rule…never date someone you work with. This rule is hard to follow with a woman like Blanca though and soon finds that she is wreaking havoc on that rule.

Blanca keeps her new work friendship with Ethan under wraps and only gives her childhood friend and new group of friends crumbs to go on. She is just getting settled into this group of friends and slowly trying to figure each of them out…including finding out more about her friend Sierra’s breakup with the mysterious “Sig”.

Ethan and Blanca rock along until a huge bomb is dropped on them that shakes them to the core. It’s a good twist but I could have seen it a mile away. I wanted to feel the attraction between these two but it took so long for that part to get heated up I wondered when it was finally coming. I would have loved it if it was more steamy but I will definitely read others in this series as it has some other characters I’d love to know more about.
