After that cliffhanger we were left with in a Love Song for Liars, I was waiting…rather impatiently I may add…for more of Annie and Tyler’s story. We all knew it wasn’t over. A love like that just doesn’t end like where it was left off at and I had to know what happened next. Where the author would take their story. A Love Song for Rebels picks up over a year after Tyler left Annie brokenhearted. Now they’re in the same city and at the same performing arts school. A place where they are both hoping their dreams become a reality. But what does that mean for the two of them? Is this their second chance or will their dreams take them in different directions? This book had it all. Tons of angst, much needed forgiveness, a beautiful sacrifice and a whole lot of love. Oh and it also a huge ass cliffhanger that had me freaking the hell out.

“He ripped my heart out more than a year ago, but it healed. Maybe it’s not the same shape it was, or the same size, but I patched it up with ambition and resolve. There are no cracks in it anymore.”

After Tyler left, Annie took things into her own hands. Where she could have been broken, she picked herself up and was determined to do whatever it takes to succeed and be seen. When her Dad says no to Vanier, what’s a girl to do? Well, obviously just go anyways and try really damn hard not to let your Dad find out. So off to college Annie goes…a wiser and stronger version of the girl we knew in the first book. But what she didn’t expect was to see Tyler again so soon. For all the feelings that came flooding back to the surface when the boy she once loved is standing in front of her in the place she wants to stay hidden. Asking for something she doesn’t know if she is ready to give.

“You taught me to want things I never let myself want. Fuck Annie. You taught me to dream.”

Tyler thought walking away from Annie was what he had to do for the both of them. But he never forgot her…never stopped loving the only person who truly saw him. So while he was shocked and totally unprepared to see her again at Vanier of all places, he was ready to throw down and fight for their second chance. With so many secrets and obstacles in their way does their love stand a chance? Okay so I completely loved Tyler in this book and the last. He was just amazing. I love how the author gave them both time to grow up in a sense. Both Annie and Tyler were different people when they cross paths again, but the love they shared was still there just waiting to be set free. I love how they both were so selfless when it came to each other. Two of my favorite characters I have read in a long time. We were also introduced to some kick ass secondary characters that I just absolutely loved in this book. The only issue I had with this book was when they meet up again it’s kind of like falling into old habits. It was a tad quick and I think I would have loved more of a build up…a tad more suspense. But I did love this story and I completely love Annie and Tyler. I’m hoping Jax redeems himself in the next book because right now he’s way at the bottom of my list of people I love in this story. I did hate the cliffhanger and not because I hate cliffhangers but because why oh why did you leave us like that Piper Lawson? NOOO. I need the third book now!!
