I wanted to love this book but something and I don’t know what didn’t mesh for me. It felt like there were pieces to a puzzle that were missing and I was left guessing and wanting more info on situations. Hazel is a math nerd and has had a rough past with a relationship. To the point the ex is a stage 5 clinger, stalker and has abused her. She has started her life over far away and has a small group of girl friends. They decide that they need men in their lives and make a “pact” to find a man for each one of them. Hazel, the most broken of the bunch, is the first one up. And it was at this point that I slightly lost interest.

She inadvertently meets Cross Brady…a charming and good looking guy. He is co-owner of a furniture business and is immediately attracted to Hazel. Because of this accidentally meeting he can’t get her out of his head. At the same time Hazel thinks (wayyyyyyyyyyyy tooooooo mucchhhhhh) about if she could really put herself out there for another guy again. Ugh…it bothered me all of her back and forth. Anyway, Cross has some issues with his business partner and things escalate quickly between them. For me, their issues came out of left field and Cross doesn’t really respond like he should when he finds out what his partner is doing. He is more interested in Hazel. It just didn’t flow and make sense to me. Besides that, I didn’t really feel chemistry with these two and it left me wanting more. Hopefully, others enjoy this story and are excited for this new series.
