Although this story is set in 1999, the themes are still very current today with Pride Month and the Black Lives Matter movement. I fell in love with both Malcom and Scott and their instant pull towards one another. Malcom is sweet, lovable, sheltered and beaten down by a controlling mother. Scott is self assured, confident, protective and knows what he wants and goes for it. Heβs exactly what Malcom needs and I found myself smiling while reading. This book is so sweet and inspiring. Is there angst? Yes. Is there conflict? Yes. But the romance is sooooooo warm and fuzzy. I get goosebumps just thinking about it. A lovely M/M story that I thoroughly enjoyed.
