I have been waiting extremely impatiently for this one to come out after we were left with a colossal cliffhanger at the end of Wicked Lairs. I desperately needed to know what happened. Will Jazz survive or will she bleed out alone in the woods before someone finds her? Who attacked her and why? Did Kingston or shit, maybe even Bentley have anything to do with it. Do they genuinely care about her? So. Many. Questions.

“Maybe I’ll feel differently once I’m clear headed, but right now, every person I’ve met since my mom died is a suspect.”

Here I thought nothing could top the first book and then Laura Lee goes and gives us Ruthless Kings. Every single thing about this book was absolutely amazing. Yes,we get some answers to the pile of questions we were left with after the first book. But then we get a whole new shit load of mystery and suspense leading to more questions. It was killing me as more secrets are revealed and Kingston, Bentley and Reed open up to Jazz but things start to make sense. What the hell is wrong with Kingston and Bentley’s creepy, old-ass, nasty fathers. Ugh…they are both pieces of work. I really hope they get what is coming to them. Tons of mystery in this book as they try to find out who attacked Jazz and out their fathers for the horrible shit they are doing while Jazz still doesn’t know who to trust.

Besides all the mystery, suspense and drama going on there is also a whole lot of insanely hot, super sexy scenes. Like OMG so freaking hot. The chemistry between Jazz and Kingston was off the charts from the get-go but there was a ton of sexual tension between Bentley and Jazz in the first book. Is it wrong that I was hoping the whole time their party of two turned into a party of three permanently? Well, if it’s wrong, I don’t want to be right. I love Jazz and how kick ass she is. She’s one of my favorite characters I have read in a long time. Kingston is super alpha and insanely hot. How can you go wrong with a great combo like that? I love him but then damn, I also love Bentley. We find out some things about all their pasts in this book and oh, my heart hurt for Bentley. We can’t forget quiet Reed who kind of shocked me in this one. We also get introduced to some new characters in this installment that I am hoping we get to see a little more of in the next book.

“I’m sick of being surrounded by all these secrets and lies. I’m fed up with the uncertainty. I know we need to keep playing this game for the greater good, but I need something real too, and you’re the realest fucking thing I’ve ever known.”

That’s all I can say about this book without giving too much away. You just really are going to want to experience it all for yourself! I already know this series will be up there with my favorite read of the year. We are also left with another huge cliffhanger at the end of this one and I can’t wait for the next one to come out!! Loving this series so much!

I can’t stop thinking about Kingston—the man is a walking contradiction.

Most of the time, he’s broody and mysterious, in a totally sexy way—like catnip for the female population. But when he’s with the guys outside of school, he’s laid back and even goofy sometimes. With Ainsley and me and hell, even Belle, he’s super-protective, and there are these moments where he’s incredibly thoughtful or kind. I remember watching a video during my freshman year science class about the Mount St. Helens eruption. The volcano sat quietly for over one hundred years, all the while, pressure was building beneath the surface. There was sufficient evidence of its impending reawakening, but the reports weren’t taken seriously enough by the general public. Tourists continued flocking to the area—some even evading roadblocks and ignoring air restrictions—until the perfect combination of events caused a cataclysmic explosion. The eruption was so powerful, it literally blew the top off the mountain, killing everyone in the vicinity.
