Baller is a second-chance love story but I’m not sure if I’d categorize it as that. Liam and Vanessa have known each other since they were young. There has always been a pull to each other. He is a ballplayer and on his way to MLB. The story moves kinda quickly. Vanessa is at her prom and finds her boyfriend cheating so she leaves. Liam finds her and after hearing what happens, takes her out for the perfect night. They start dating and go to Vegas at the age of twenty-one to get married. I am not a fan of insta love but I kept reading.

There is a HUGE and I mean HUGE miscommunication about a situation and Vanessa does not give Liam the change to explain. Liam does not go after Vanessa and they end up divorced. The whole situation was rather unbelievable and I was frustrated that these two had such a lack of communication. Their marriage ended over something that could have been easily explained and fixed.

That brings us to years later and after picking up and moving away, Vanessa is back and engaged. It’s basically Liam chasing her trying to win her back and gain her forgiveness. Will he get a chance to explain his side of the story and win her back? I found myself yelling at her to just stop it already! It was super frustrating to read. So much angst! I was disappointed in how this misunderstanding dragged on for years. It was draining. But some people love the drama and perhaps they’ll love this story.
