I had high hopes for this book and liked the storyline premise but it’s one that has been done before. I was hoping this one rose above the rest. Jazlyn and her brother inherit a hockey team when her father passes away. She starts to get a lot of blowback because she is a woman, doesn’t know how to run a hockey team (even though she was on the Women’s Olympic Team) wears skirts, yada, yada, yada. She knows that she has to lay low and prove herself to management, the team, the fans…everyone. Only it’s not as easy once she realizes that the new team captain is no other than the boy who broke her heart 6 years ago, Lincoln.
Lincoln is a hot, sexy, alpha hockey player who has just been named team captain. Jazlyn waltzes in as the new co-owner of his team and the girl he left behind. He had his reasons for leaving and is not sure if that reason will be able to be kept a secret any more. Especially when he realizes his feelings for her have never gone away and come roaring back. Jazlyn, however, is not ready to bring any attention to her or the team. She’s not ready to have her heart broken again. Or is she?
This was a light read for me. I had hoped for some fire in it but it wasn’t quite hot enough for me. Might be exactly what you are looking for though.
