Lots of push and pull in this one! I would call it a slow burn with some teasing. Alyssa is a strong, struggling young woman whose always underestimated but is willing to put in the hard effort to succeed. AND…she definitely has a thing for the bad boys. Luca has a lot of pressure on him to run his cutthroat empire and doesn’t want a liability or to endanger anyone close to him. I loved how feisty and provoking Alyssa was. Not in a bratty way but more in a you can’t tell me what to do way. She wasn’t a doormat or cowering when Luca was all intimidating and dominant. Definitely a sexy, flirty book that drew me in and kept my attention. There’s just something about those bad boys that draws a girl in and makes you want to get down and dirty. This story was just dark and gritty enough to feed my black soul and I can’t wait for more from Ker Dukey.
