Isabella starts off around eighteen years old and best friends with Tatiana. Isabella falls for Tatiana’s much older, older brother Vasili. He is one of the heads of the Russian Mafia. Isabella is sure that Vasili also has feeling for her. They end up hooking up and she’s convinced this was the best day of her life and totally reads the situation wrong. Especially when he turns around and tells her it was a mistake and treats her like dirt…never to be seen again.

Five years later, Isabella is back as a doctor. Vasili has evidently been keeping tabs on her and suddenly wants to be in a relationship with her. There is also a reason why he has kept tabs on her and wants to make sure she is safe. It has to do to a storyline involving her family.

I am not sure if it was his abruptness with how he left her or the way once she’s back and he’s all about her…but it turned me off. I felt there was the lack of chemistry. I know other people have talked about their hot scenes, but for me I found them missing something and maybe it was due to the fact I just didn’t like him. I didn’t feel the change in feelings had a smooth transition. Perhaps the author worked too hard to make him a tough mafia guy and for me, he appeared to be an inconsistent jerk. I couldn’t connect with the hero so this story wasn’t for me. But with all of the positive reviews, it may the perfect one for you.
