This book pulled at my heartstrings. Winter’s best friend passes away from cancer at a young age while denied treatment because she was pregnant. She now finds herself the guardian of this adorable baby girl. She’s doing her best to raise her but is literally one baby bottle away from being broke. As far as Winter knows, the baby daddy Harry is a famous retired hockey player. When he found out he was gonna be a Dad, he turned his back on her best friend. To say she hates him is an understatement.

However, once he finds out he has a child, the truth comes out. Things were not as cut and dry as Winter’s best friend Mallory led her to believe. Harry did not know he had a little girl. Once Mallory said she might be pregnant, he never heard from her again. He’s super angry and didn’t have plans for a child but once he sees his daughter, he falls for her hard.

Needless to say, Winter and Harry come up with a plan for the child. The plot easily gets guided in the direction of these two falling for each other. There is a lot of baggage and conflict which made this story very compelling. This was a heartfelt love story due to unfortunate circumstances. I enjoyed this book and seeing these two navigate an instant family and its challenges.
