This was an amazing book. Deep and heart pounding at times. I really don’t want to give too much away because I don’t think my review could do it justice but I’ll summarize. Skylar is in college and even though timid and reserved feels she needs to immerse herself in the college experience. She stumbles into a traumatic situation and afterwards has very little memory of it. This causes her to become withdrawn and gun shy talking to people. She does not know who to trust and without her memories it is devastating to her. Not to mention she is struggling to get along with her roommate.

Danny is the star athlete at college and a freakin’ wet dream come to life. Danny knows Skylar is struggling and instead of trying to get in her pants, he puts his want of a relationship with her and becomes her friend. He is a man and men do and say stupid things. He does his fair share of it! But he genuinely cares for Skylar and is willing to do anything to help her navigate this traumatic event and be there for her.

Watching these two communicate and trust each other was so heartwarming. There are some sensitive parts that had my heart beating. Once her memories come back, they had me on the edge of my seat. Danny handles her with kid gloves and starts to earn her trust. Naturally, there is a little twist that sets all his hard work back and I thought for sure this story took a turn I didn’t like. By the end of the book however, I was happy. There is a book before this that I will definitely be going back to read. Great story, well written, sensitive subjects but handled perfectly!
