After that huge cliffhanger we were left with at the end of Spark of Fate, we’re finally back together with Rowan and her five mates. Life on the compound is getting easier for Rowan. She finally feels like she has a real family. She has a place she feels at home after basically being abandoned by her adoptive family after her sister’s tragic death. We do get some much needed answers in this book but that also a ton more questions. Filled with suspense, drama, power, angst and steam, Mark of Stars takes us on a non-stop action ride that ends with another monster cliffhanger.

As Rowan learns more about who and what she is, her relationship with each of her five mates continues to grow and bonds start to form. Some willingly and some not so much. Vaughn is still his mysterious and grouchy self. Although he says he doesn’t want the bond, we start to understand why he feels the way he does. I went from being slightly annoyed with him to completely and utterly intrigued. I already loved Lucas, Keene and Anson. But in this book we did get to see another side of Vaughn and Holden and now I love them too. I really liked how the author gave us more on each of the mate’s individual gifts in this book. How the bond could help them all. We met them all in book one but in book two we really got to know them. We also see a ton of character and relationship growth. It definitely didn’t hurt that there were plenty of hot and heavy scenes that were off the damn charts.

As Rowan and the rest of the pack start to sense how powerful Rowan may be, the council comes calling and wants her power. People from Rowan’s past start popping up. Some wanted and some with the intent to harm. There’s tons of mystery and suspense in the second half of this book. Rowan’s mates will do anything to protect her, but will that be enough? This book was as face paced as the first. It was a non-stop roller coaster ride. I really enjoyed this story and getting to know each of Rowan’s mates a little more. Each has something special and unique to bring to the table. I love the six of them together. But that cliffhanger? That was torture. I can’t wait until the next book is here!

I wanted to believe those words. To hope that maybe Anson was falling for me because of who I was and not what I was. But it wasn’t just Anson in this bond. There were four other guys and not all of them felt that way.
