Down and Dirty by Mari Carr ~ Blog Tour w/ Review

But Jess isn’t willing to get hurt again . . . no matter how persuasive, how determined, how deliciously possessive her new roommates are.

Down and Dirty, an all-new slow burn sexy heroes romance and the first book in the Italian Stallion Series from New York Times bestselling author Mari Carr is available now!

What happens when a down-on-her-luck single mom meets not one, but two sexy saviors? Roommates with twice the benefits.

Jess has one goal in life—protect her son. But when an overcrowded shelter puts her and Jasper out on the street in the dead of winter, she fears she’s going to fail that mission. Help comes in the form of confirmed bachelors, Tony Moretti and Dr. Rhys Beaumont.

Tony and Rhys share the same motto—work hard, play harder. But when fate drops a homeless waitress and her young son on their doorstep, their wild and free lifestyle takes a sharp turn. Their desire to help her is only surpassed by their desire to claim her, share her, make her theirs.

When Tony and Rhys offer Jess a place to stay and security, there’s no denying the chemistry between the three of them. All she has to do is let them in. But Jess isn’t willing to get hurt again . . . no matter how persuasive, how determined, how deliciously possessive her new roommates are.

Fall in love with Tony and Rhys!

I am torn on this book! Part of me likes it and part of me wants to roll my eyes. It’s the first book in a series based on how many characters are introduced. However, this book is about a single mom, who lives very far from home. Her family disowned her and her young son. She has held crap jobs, gets evicted and is living in her car. This storyline was good up until she makes her next move.

While working at a diner, one of her regulars leaves a business card that she takes and puts in her wallet. While in her car freezing one night, she decides to go to the address on the card. Her customer and his roommate find her the next morning close to freezing. And here where the author lost me…two smoke show professionals that live together just happen to stumble upon her outside. They become super alpha over her telling her what to do. Both start to have feelings and are drawn to her. She has no clue who these guys are other than they eat at her diner one day a week. She moves in with her kid until she can get on her feet? It was just all too fast and felt forced. There were only a few sexy scenes. Also, these two guys were not interested in each other and had never shared a woman before. But it was no big deal to them.

I’m not a fan of insta-love books. Unfortunately this book fell in that category for me. It felt like the story was rushed and seemed unrealistic to me. It kept me interested because I felt like if I kept going it might pick up. But there were other characters that kept in interesting.
