Good lord, Rachel Leigh! This book was NOT what the blurb led me to believe. It was better. And Bittersweet. And angsty. And heartbreaking. And made me ugly snot cry at the end. Now that I have recovered and can breathe properly I can only tell you a few things because this is a must read.

Ryker is Carter’s best friend. He’s in love with Carter’s younger sister Kit who is still in high school. Kit is head over heels for Carter too. But the brother thing stands in the way. For unknown reasons to Carter and Kit, Ryker leaves town with no word. Kit is heartbroken, devastated and doesn’t understand why he would leave with no word. Kit’s also literally sick…health wise. Which is another twist in the story. Later, Ryker comes back into her life and Kit is irate at first. If Ryker thinks he can just waltz in like he hasn’t been gone for almost two years…to say her reception is icy is an understatement.

I truly feel these two are soulmates and things heat up! The only thing missing from this book were a little hotter sexy scenes. Overall, I’m not sure I really minded. At this point, the book takes a WHOLE new twist and I was sobbing and ugly crying…snot and all. Why do authors do this? Why? It came out of left field and stomped on my heart! I highly recommend this one!
