My name is Harper Apple, and people say I’m rotten to the core.
I’m not the only one.
The Dolce boys aren’t just dangerous, privileged, rich alphaholes. They’re a gang of three psychopaths backed by a pack of enablers and worshipped by their fangirls.
And I want in.
When I witness their unhinged, shocking violence firsthand, I know I can’t let them continue to ruin lives the way they’ve done for the past few years. I have to stop them. If they’re too powerful to be taken down by the founders of the town, though, how can one girl from the wrong side of the tracks stand a chance?
The answer is easy.
It has to be an inside job.
They’re not about to open their exclusive circle to the likes of me, but if I play my cards just right, I might just get in with the Dolce boys. But what can a girl with nothing to lose offer a boy who has everything?
And when I find out, will I be willing to pay the price of admission?
This is book 2 in a series and cannot be read on its own. It contains triggering material and is recommended for readers 18+.

Gahhh! The ending! Seriously!! I’m dead right now. I can not freakin’ wait until the next book comes out. This series is 🔥! Hot alpha males, sassy heroine, addicting storyline. All the good book things. The twist and the darkness kept me sucked in until the bitter end. Selena did a fantastic job weaving the highs and lows. Seriously one of the best stories I’ve read in a long time. A reread is definitely in order!

Phew, this is a series so you need to read the first book to even have a clue of what is going on. And again, like my review of the first book, I don’t want to give to much away…not that I could because this series is so complex.
The second book picks up after the first ends with a cliffy. I feel like this book was a bridge to some serious sh*t that is about to happen in the next book. It wasn’t that long but was chock full of crazy. Mia and Bexley are trying to fight to stay in each others’ lives as best as they can without Cade finding out. Other characters are starting to lose their way and others are seeing things clearer . Some are pulling away from the creepiness that is oozing out of this town. There is a countdown that is looming and getting closer and closer. Mia and Bexley know that once this day comes…it may be the end for them.
They are on a mission in this book to find a way to change the outcome of the impending Dooms Day. Yet again, this book ends literally on the Day of Doom and we have to wait to find out what the hell will become of this town. There were more hot scenes, some pretty angsty and WTF scenes. Things are definitely escalating and more of Cade’s crazy is showing. Sitting waiting patiently for next book!

Thomas Knox aka Knox is the epitome of a cowboy with an adorable accent. He is a super hot alpha but definitely has a soft side. After an injury halted his dream career, he is resigned to run the family ranch. He is dealing with heartbreak as well since his actress girlfriend fell madly in love with another actor. He feels beat up but has no shortage of women that’s for sure. He has almost given up on love.
After meeting Belle, he realizes that she is an up-and-coming singer and knows that this will only end up in another heartbreak due to fame. There is no way he is going to get hung up on someone who will eventually get famous and leave him again. Only fate steps in and these two keep crossing paths. It was a bit of a rushed love story with some sexy scenes that kept my interest to find out if these two could actually give their relationship a go. There were some pretty funny moments as well as a few heart tugging scenes. I loved watching these two figure out the high profile life between a singer and a farm country boy.
I’m happiest when wandering through the uncharted territory of my imagination. You’ll find me curled up with my laptop, browsing the books at the local library, or enjoying the smell of a new book, taking great delight in cracking the spine and writing in the margins!

“A great read! I loved the story, the characters, and the BDE. Penelope and Archer’s chemistry hooked me from their first meeting to the last page.”- Kristen, Goodreads
About the Book
Sick of being talked over and disregarded at work, I resolve to exude the same confidence as the males who perpetually get promoted over me. While honing my Big Dick Energy skills at a bar with my friends, I rebuff the advances of a man who embodies the definition. Hot. Cocky. Swagger for days. It’s a no from me, and his shock indicates he’s not often rejected.
The joke’s on me when I discover he’s my new business partner. After the months it took to land the account, I refuse to apologize to Archer York, backdown during meetings where we constantly clash, or do anything that’d make me seem weak—although my knees feel anything but strong around the guy. But as our frustrating encounters turn flirty, I wonder if it’d be so bad to throw decorum out the window and do what alpha guys do best—think with their dicks.

Penelope is hard working and tired of being pushed aside by her boss because she is a woman. She is fed up of doing all the late nights, extra hours, top notch work and getting her nowhere. While out drinking with her man hating girlfriends one night, they tell her to fight back. To not let the men of the world push her around and be Big D&ck Energy. When the hot, hot guy at the bar tries to hit on her using lame pick up lines, she unleashes all her pent up anger on him and cuts him down brutally. Not once but twice. Her girls praise her and even though she thinks the stranger was gorgeous, she felt liberated that she stood up for herself to not be treated as a piece of meat.
Fast forward to work targeting a big client, waiting for someone her boss has brought in to give a different perspective to the new client. The expert is a real shark and exactly who they need to land this client. Can you guess who it is? Yep, it’s the stranger from the bar Archer. She is mortified she will have to work with the guy she gave a tongue lashing to.
Penelope was one tantrum away from me giving up on this book. I could not connect with her character and wanted to scream for Archer to run. The story started out pretty good but didn’t quite go the way I had hoped. It was an ok read for me but you might find it amazing.

Gahhh! The twist! Loved it. I really enjoyed this book. The characters were super intense and I devoured their stories. I had to know what happened to them. This book is set in a different type of world. One that’s sick twisted and to be honest a total nightmare. The book wasn’t meant to be a romance in my opinion. It was meant to bring light to a situation that’s happening all over the world. Huss nailed that part of it. Definitely a good read. Not for the faint of heart.
I put one hand up and slowly sign, Talk to me. It’s an easy sign and she gets it, because she goes tense again, then shakes her head no. But then she repeats my signs back with modifications, pointing at me, tapping her chin with a sideways hand, and then pointing to herself. You talk to me.
I already did.
She shakes her head and makes a sign for ‘whisper.’
And now it’s my turn to go tense and just stare at her for a moment.
Because she got it right. The sign is ‘talk,’ but if your other hand is cupped on the side of your mouth, it means ‘whisper.’ Like you’re gonna whisper in someone’s ear.
Did she just… I squint at her and she frowns in response. Has she taught herself sign language?
That’s not possible. Not this fast. It hasn’t even been a week.
Then whisper to me, I sign.
She shakes her head again. And then she touches my lips with the edge of her fingertips and slowly drags them up my cheek before pulling away.
‘Kiss.’ That was the sign for ‘kiss.’
She wants me to kiss her.
I know this is a distraction. I know who I’m dealing with. A girl who has been silent so long, no one remembers her last spoken words. A girl who should be dead, but isn’t. A girl who should be anywhere but here with me, but is. A girl who four days ago didn’t know a single bit of sign language, and now knows enough to stun me silent.
So I should really know better.
I should push her. Keep going. Because I could make her talk. I know I could.
But then she leans towards me. And we’re not that far apart, so that kiss she just asked for is now an absolute guarantee.
Our lips touch and just… linger there for a breath.
And so many things go through my mind in that breath. I want to resist her offer. Push her down, roll over, and forget where I’m at and who I’m with.
But that’s just fucking stupid. I like this girl. A lot.
I want to kiss her.
And all those other thoughts earlier about not wanting sex… well. This seems like more than sex. So that’s something I am interested in.
When our lips touch everything that happens next—whether it’s today, tomorrow, or next year—everything that happens next is preordained. And there’s no way to stop it.
I cup my hands around her face, my thumbs caressing small circles on her cheeks as her mouth opens and her tongue touches mine.
There is maybe one more moment. One more chance to stop the car crash that’s coming, but it’s such a small moment, so short and tiny, it barely exists.
And what comes next is pure lust.
I open my mouth, kiss her hard. Bite her lip, grab her breasts as I drop my full weight over her.
She kisses me back. But her kiss isn’t urgent, like mine. It’s soft. And even though we’re stained with salt water, and sweat, and the wind, she tastes so sweet, I want this kiss to last forever.
