Dashiell Thane isn’t a sweet guy. He’s rude, abrasive, arrogant and Peggy Newland’s best friend. When her mother left her wealthy father, she lost some of that lifestyle but not her friendship with Dash, who she’s known since they were babies. She’s waited until their senior year to date and now their friendship has dissolved into jealousy and lies. You aren’t supposed to kiss your best friend especially when you’re dating someone else.

“A hidden truth unearthed. It was official. I’d fallen for my best friend, and she was breaking my black fucking heart.”

What an angsty high school read! Loved it! Dash had to work his way into my heart with all of his push and pull. My heart melted pretty quickly though and I started rooting for him. Peggy was very naïve regarding her relationship with Dash. There is so much drama, angst and such a roller coaster of emotions throughout this story. I couldn’t stop reading once I was pulled into their mess…such a page turner! Woo baby. So worth every single word.

If you are all into those young adult type of books with lots of drama, you really need to check out Ella Fields. She writes some of the best addictive stories I have ever read. So freaking good.

I fell to the bed just as a thump hit the exterior of the house, and Dash launched himself through the window.

“Can you ever land gracefully?” Or you know, use the front door. For as long as we’d lived here, he’d snuck in. At first, it was due to being unsure whether my mom would still want us hanging out, but it didn’t take her long to figure out what he was doing.

She didn’t care. When I’d shaken like a mouse cornered in a kitchen, she’d smiled and told me she’d never stop us from being friends. Yet the window always remained unlocked.

Dash kicked off his boots, and they hit the aging floor with two bangs. “I’m all man, baby. Not a fucking cat.”

Hearing him say that reminded me of why he was here. I sprang to my feet, hurtling out into the hall and into the bathroom.

“What are you doing?”

Too busy gargling mouthwash, I didn’t answer and spat it into the sink as he appeared in the weathered mirror behind me.

“Seriously?” he asked. “You burp in my face after eating garlic pizza, so this is just fucking dumb.”

“You burped in my face first.” I put the cap back on the bottle, not meeting his gaze. I couldn’t. I headed back inside the safety of my room.

But I had to wonder, as I heard Dash gargling mouthwash too, if it would be considered safe again after this. Would this ruin everything by making it awkward?

“Dash,” I said, wringing my hands as I paced the floor of my room. “We probably shouldn’t be doing this. What if––”

“What if it’s awesome and you fall madly in love with me? Well, we already know I don’t do commitment.”

A tiny laugh skittered out. “No, what if it gets awkward? I don’t want anything to change.”

He took me by the shoulders in the middle of my rainbow knitted rug and leveled me with his vibrant eyes. “We’ve done some pretty awkward shit, so what’s a little mouth to mouth going to change?”

I nodded, exhaling slowly, then I frowned. “Why are you doing this? I mean, I know why I want to, but you? What do you even get out of it?”

He grinned. “You might be my best friend, but I’ve always wondered what it’d be like to stick my tongue down your throat.” He tipped a muscled shoulder. “Let’s just say you’ll be killing that curiosity.”

“You’ve always wondered?”

“I’ve got eyes, Freckles. And I don’t need my glasses to appreciate the sight of something beautiful.”

I blinked. “Wow. That was actually really swe––”

“Shut your inexperienced mouth and kiss me.”

I was still laughing when he grabbed my face, and then I squeaked as the world changed color, and his lips lowered over mine.

My heart became a trumpet, blaring in my ears at the first touch of his lips.

I pulled away, startled and still laughing. “Oh, my God.”

Dash’s hands were warm on my face. “That good? They barely even touched.”

“No,” I choked out, pushing his hands away. “It’s just … a little weird.”

“Weird?” His brows scrunched. “We’ve barely even begun.”

I blew out a shaky breath, unable to look at him as my hands flapped at my sides. I stared at his white shirt, looking at where the cotton met his tanned skin. “I don’t know, Dash.”

“Wanna try again?”

I looked at him then, at the eager glint in his blue eyes. “It’s not weird for you?”

He chewed his bottom lip which was a little fatter than the top. And it’d just been touching mine. Oh, how crazy. “Maybe a smidgen. I can just picture Margot Robbie, and I’ll be good.”

I froze. “Margot Robbie?”

He gestured to my hair. “The blonde hair helps.”

“Jesus.” I swiped my hands down my face. “This is dumb. Let’s just forget it.”

He stood there a moment, glancing around my room. “Why don’t you imagine someone? That guy from the Thor movie. You like him.”

“Chris Hemsworth?”

“Yeah. Imagine him.” Then he grinned, waggling his brows. “Pucker up, baby.”

“You didn’t just say that.” I laughed, plopping down on the edge of my bed.

“Whatever. Are we trying again or what?”

The thought of Byron and that mischievous twinkle in his green eyes, the way he’d wasted no time moving in to kiss me … yeah. I needed to do this.

“Okay.” I shook out my hands, bouncing a little on the bed. “Okay, let’s do this.”

Dash’s lips thinned. “This isn’t a cross meet. We’re only swapping germs.”

“You just had to say that, didn’t you?” My pep had officially vanished.

Dash tugged me off the bed. “Close your eyes and relax.”

I tried, but I was as stiff as a board when his mouth met mine again. He tasted like spearmint and cigarettes, but his hands were gentle as one held my chin and the other glided through my hair to the back of my head. Slowly, with the soft press of his lips on mine and the gentle exploration of their shape, my limbs loosened.

“Open,” he whispered, his voice threaded, rougher.

I did, expecting the invasion of his tongue, but the velvet feel of it only traced the inner edges of my mouth.

Out of all the things I’d expected to feel when he’d suggested this crazy idea, it wasn’t relaxed, and it certainly wasn’t the buzzing sensation currently warming my insides.

“This isn’t so bad,” I said when he pulled back, my voice a low exhalation.

“Good. Now repeat the same to me.” My eyes were about to spring open, but he growled. “Keep them closed. Don’t think, just do and feel.”

Drawing in a quick breath through my nose, I found his stubble-coated cheeks with my hands and lifted myself on my toes. I tried to do the same thing he did to me, but my tongue plunged deeper, meeting the warm softness of his. I licked it, stroking cautiously until I heard him hum, the sound vibrating up his throat and causing our lips to mash together.

His hands became firmer around my head, his tongue greedier, sweeping inside my mouth before my teeth found purchase on his plump bottom lip, and pulled.

He groaned, and it had me staggering back, my heart racing and my breath an unsteady, embarrassing sound.

Dash swallowed, then cleared his throat as he shifted on his feet. His eyes met mine, and I looked away, down to where my mint green toes were curling over the abrasive fabric of my rug.

Awkward. This was so awkward, and I prayed we hadn’t just made a huge mistake.

“So that’s how it’s done.” He grabbed the TV remote and plopped onto my bed. “Got any popcorn?”

I shook my head. “Wait, that’s um, it?”

He started flicking through Netflix. “Well, yeah. Not much else to it. We can practice again before your date if you want, but I’m fucking starving, and we need to re-watch the last season of GoT before the new one is out.”

“Oh, yeah,” I said, remembering I’d promised him that weeks ago. Hungry myself, I stepped outside, then scowled at him from the doorway. “Don’t put your socks near my pillow.”

He grumbled but shifted and moved over to the other side of the bed.

What started as a game, has turned Jericho Forge all around. He is ruthless as a businessman but India Baptiste was worth more than a business deal. Jericho knows he’s not worthy of India’s love. Will India make a bet on their happy ever after?

“There’s nothing between us…except my fear that he’ll never love me like I love him.

I can make him love me. I can.

My favorite trilogy to date! I loved Jericho and India’s love story. Both so headstrong and feisty but deeply drawn to one another. My jaw dropped a few times during this last one where I had no idea what was going on. But I loved every minute finding out where this book was going! I want another book with some of these characters just so I can get the last word…and so there…because I feel like they weren’t sufficiently enlightened. Perhaps we will see them again…fingers crossed! Thank you for introducing us to the Kracken!

You all need to read Meghan March if you love seeing a no commitment alpha male fall hard for a feisty lady who can hold her own. I love all of these stories and how they make me swoon!

Beautifully told. Two souls come together despite all odds against them to find their little bit of happiness. I loved this story so much and it captivated me page after page. Sage was bullied by her mother and you couldn’t help but be caught up in her getting her say. Mars was a victim of his father’s blaming him for losing the woman he loved. These two just deserved some true love in their lives. There is just so much sweetness in their relationship. Keep bringing us these forbidden love stories.

Diary of a Bad Boy by Meghan Quinn ~ Release Blitz w/ 4.5 Star Review!

Dear Diary,

I might have gotten myself into a wee bit of trouble—and I’m not talking about the “court mandated community service,” or “therapy sessions from bashing a bloke in the head” kind of trouble.

I wish it were that simple.

Nope. I’m talking about the “falling in love with one of my client’s daughters,” kind of trouble . . .
The kind of problem I can’t talk my way out of when the truth gets out.

How I ended up with her phone is a long story—and when she called to get it back, I took things a bit too far. One innocent exchange wound up leading to so much more.

Fun, new, and totally immune to my charm, Sutton is different. And I had no idea she was the daughter of Foster Green.

Blame it on the dark colored stout running through my veins, pushing me toward one bad decision after another. Pushing me toward her even though I know right from wrong; even though she’s my client’s daughter.

Dating her might be the best or worst decision I’ve ever made. Only time, whiskey, and one more roll around the mattress with her will tell.

Roark McCool has always been a little untamed. Now he has court mandated community service and required therapy sessions. The Sport Agent is talented when representing his clients but his personal life is a mess. When the bad boy runs into Sutton Green, he can’t help but tease her and turn her life upside down. Sutton wants nothing to do with his Irish charms which makes her all the more tempting. Until Roark finds out she’s his client’s daughter.

“He doesn’t kiss, he doesn’t nibble, but it’s almost like he’s feeling the contour of my neck with his lips.

It causes a feather-like sensation to roll down my arms and across my stomach. He’s barely doing anything – just a graze of his lips and a swipe of his thumb – and I’m already wet, ready, and desperate for him to give me more.”

There’s just something about an Irish bad boy. Roark took me by surprise and stole my heart even while I was cursing his name for being an asshole. Must be that fooking accent. I really loved both of them. Sutton was so sweet and somewhat sheltered. She had a heart of gold and was self-confident enough to deal with Roark’s broken soul. I loved their story so much. I’m such a sucker for bad boys settling down and finding their match…in wit, heart, mind and strength. Leaves me all swoony and sighing.

Meghan’s books are funny, romantic and leave you swooning in the end. I really am addicted to these alpha males and how unattainable they all are…until the ONE.

Kayla Wilson has her life together. For the most part. She has work she loves, great friends, and a friends-with-benefits arrangement which suits her just fine — she’s not interested in anything more. Kayla likes her life. She has wonderful friends. She loves her work. She has a friends-with-benefits relationship with her neighbor. Everything is easy, the way she likes it. The more she looks into her mother’s future husband, she discovers he’s is a serial cheater and his son bullied Kayla in school. With help from her friends, Kayla is determined to break up the wedding. Will Kayla succeed in protecting her mother or end up finding true love herself?

“Lust is an emotion, therefore it does not follow logic, or common sense. It’s wild and unpredictable. And that’s what’s so damn scary about it.”

Kayla’s story just about killed me. I loved it…of course…but my heart was all twisted up with Oscar and Matt and her relationship with her mom. Such an emotionally touching story about broken people and being brave enough to move forward. I won’t even tell you how many times I said “nooooo!!!” out loud. I wanted to tug Kayla aside and say “make good choices!” But our heroines never listen to us. Despite my angst, this book is an entertaining page turner with characters you can’t help but fall in love with. And I really fell for one guy in particular. Wow.

Roya Carmen always sucks me in these angsty relationships and people making emotional decisions. It’s like an accident I can’t look away from. I literally pick up the book and can’t read it non-stop with my hands covering my eyes half the time. She gets me every single time.

A voice startles me. “Sorry, I’m late.”
It takes just a second for my brain to process the sound, the sound of a man’s voice, relatively young, not too deep. A Vermont accent not much different than my own. Yet, there’s something chilling about it, something that makes me uncomfortable, on edge.

When I open my eyes, I recognize him in an instant. Before my brain can even process him, my body reacts to him in ways that completely surprise me. Who would have thought that after ten years, he could still affect me this way. I feel nauseated, the taste of bile rises in my throat. A few seconds ago, I was completely fine, but now I’m clammy and hot. My hands are shaking, and my voice is gone, just like it always was around him years ago.
He hasn’t changed one bit. He still has the same piercing blue eyes and dirty blond hair, always kept a little too long. He still has that laissez-faire air of a boy who knows he has the world at his feet.
I fell hopelessly in love with him the first day I met him, a warm day in September, in seventh grade. He was the new kid on the block, and I was the shy self-conscious overweight girl. We’d met at the corner store next to the school. I would often sneak over there to buy treats because my mom wouldn’t let me have any — there were no sweets at our house. Dessert once a week was the rule.
I had bought a chocolate bar and a bag of jujubes. When I’d accidentally dropped the bag, and quite a few had fallen out, I was devastated. Matt picked them up quickly, one by one. “Five second rule,” he said, and popped one in his mouth. He gave me the other ones. I couldn’t help but smile.
I fell in love that instant.
We sat together on the picnic bench next to the store. He popped his bag of Doritos open and offered me one. I politely declined.
“Thank you so much,” I said to him, “for saving my jujubes. I don’t get to have candy often.”
“Me either.” He helped himself to another Dorito. “My mother is a health freak. My dad is a workaholic.”
I studied him carefully from head to toe. We were from different worlds. He was obviously a rich kid. His shoes alone were probably worth more than my whole wardrobe.
“Me too,” I told him. “My mother won’t let me have candy either.”
“Why?” he asked, as if it were not completely obvious. One look at me was enough to answer that question.
I stared at the ground as I dug into my bag of jujubes and reached for another one. “She thinks I’m fat. She says I need to lose weight.”
He smiled. “Don’t listen to her. Parents don’t know what they’re talking about.”
Did he really not see it? Did he think I was just fine the way I was? My mother didn’t. And my dad certainly didn’t either. Unlike my mom, he wasn’t polite about it. He’d always call me his ‘little tubs’.
“Are you new here?” I asked, an attempt to make conversation, and to learn everything there was to know about him.
“Yeah, we just moved here. My dad just started a real estate law firm. Apparently, the real estate market in this town is booming.”
I smiled. “I don’t know much about that.” I thought about my sad little apartment, and knew I’d never invite him to my place.
“What’s your name?” he asked.
“Kayla,” I said. “Kayla Wilson.”
He offered me his hand with a big smile. He had the biggest, brightest most charming grin I’d ever seen. “Matt Moore.”
Butterflies were dancing in my stomach. “Nice to meet you, Matt Moore.”
From that moment on, I was obsessed. I thought this was the beginning of a beautiful friendship, possibly more. I couldn’t even let my twelve-year old brain go there.
I had no clue that it was actually the start of my own personal nightmare.

Actually, I’m worse than that—because I didn’t stop with a kiss, and now I can’t stay away. She makes me feel like myself again. She reminds me what it’s like to want something just for me. She’s everything I ever needed, but nothing I ever imagined.

Mack is a former marine, single dad and CFO at Cloverleigh Farms. At times he feels like he’s under water, trying to juggle all of his responsibilities. He might find himself attracted to Frannie Sawyer but she’s ten years younger and the boss’s daughter. She’s also his part-time nanny. He’d never cross that line. But then he did. And now he can’t stop thinking of touching her. I just can’t let my selfish desires interfere with the life Frannie deserves.

“I couldn’t go backward and undo what we’d done. I couldn’t unhear the words she’d spoken. I couldn’t unfeel this longing for her. But I couldn’t act on it, either.”

A touching romance with a single father and the forbidden daughter of your boss. So much sweetness it’s overflowing. Mack is really such a good father and deserves so much more than he thinks he does. Frannie is adorable and sort of innocent. She hasn’t really experienced life outside of the farm because of childhood health problems. Plus, she’s the baby of the family. I just wanted to help her assert herself and get herself out of the nest. These two were so amazing together and there were many just heartwarming moments during this story. Just a real feel good read that you want to cuddle up with and enjoy in front of the fireplace.

I love the way Melanie Harlow’s books just flow and wrap you up. They are such a joy to read and leave you with a smile on your face. Sweet romances.

Irresistible - Teaser 4 an.jpg

I was holding my breath.

I wasn’t even sure why, but it was something about the way Mack was looking at me. And the tension in his body—the taut muscles in his neck. The grip of his fingers on the edge of the counter. The set of his jaw. It gave the impression of restraint. Like he was holding himself back.

Something unfamiliar hummed in the air between us. I could feel it—he wanted me the way I wanted him.

No wonder I couldn’t breathe.

Then he cleared his throat and turned away from me, cutting off the current. “Sure. Everybody needs to make mistakes now and then.”

I’d forgotten I’d even asked the question.

He turned the sink on, rinsed his dishes, and placed them in the dishwasher. I stood there staring at his muscular back, at the width of his shoulders, at the snug fit of his jeans on his butt. If I were his and he were mine, I’d go over and wrap my arms around his waist, press my cheek to his back. Then he’d turn around, winding his arms around me. He’d lower his lips to mine, and—

“I should get you home,” he said, interrupting my fantasy. “Want to grab your coat?”

“Sure.” But I didn’t really want to leave. I wanted to stay in this warm, chaotic house with him and the girls. Pretend I belonged here. Pretend I belonged to him.

Kellie has it all…more than a triple threat. With an Oscar, a Tony, an Emmy and a Grammy, she is the Hollywood IT Girl. As she is embarking on a nationwide concert tour, she is forced to face the threat of stalker and the need to up her security. Brian is a man that has guarded Kellie a few times in the past and spurn her advances. She feels awkward facing a lot of one on one time on a tour bus with the one man who obviously is immune to her charms. But it’s only a matter of time before he falls for the Hollywood Princess.

“The minute I saw her, something pulled me to her, but she had a boyfriend, so I shut that shit down. Or tried to. But every time she was near me, my heart sped up and my hands would get clammy. And each time, I reminded myself she was off limits and, more importantly, out of my league.”

Just what I love…a hot bodyguard and some suspense all wrapped up in a story that just sucks you in. Kellie is a sweetheart with a lot of feisty mixed in for some spice. She was a perfect match for Brian and his alpha protective ways. There was a lot of teasing and flirting going on and Brian trying to remain all professional. BORING….LOL! But I’m glad that Kellie was able to persuade him to be at least a little naughty…ok…a whole bunch naughty. Fun to read and I enjoyed every single page.

If you like the movie star, singer, Hollywood type book…look no further than this series. It’s just so much fun and you always love to see a player settle down. These books are just a joy to read.

You can find her, in four inch heels no less, in the car chauffeuring kids, or possibly with her husband scheduling his business trips. It’s a good thing her characters do what she says, because even her Labrador doesn’t listen to her…
