Pawn, the highly-anticipated conclusion to The Pawn Duet from USA Today bestselling author T.M. Frazier, is available now!

My life is on the line.
I’m trapped both physically and emotionally. A pawn in a game I didn’t know I was playing.
Until I met him.
Pike acts without emotion, but I know he feels something for me.
I see it in his eyes when he looks at me. I feel it when he’s close.
I know it’s real because I feel it too.
Lust. Desire.
It complicates everything.
I know that I’m part of Pike’s plan for revenge.
He doesn’t know he’s part of mine.

Pawn is book two of The Pawn Duet. Pike is book one.

A well deserved end to Pike and Mickey’s story. Lots of unpredictable twists and moving pieces but also Preppy stealing the spotlight moments. I love him so much! My favorite books have broken characters that go on a journey of healing and Pawn definitely has this and so much more. Family is always a theme in the King series and I find myself smiling when they all come together. Pike and Mickey are a wonderful addition to this family and I can’t wait for more characters to join in as it continues to grow.

Pike bends me over the sink. I grip the edge to prevent falling face-first against the porcelain. I glance up at him through the mirror to where he’s standing behind me, appraising my body with fierce heat in his fiery eyes. He molds his body against mine. I close my eyes at the sensation I’ve been dreaming about feeling since the last time I saw him. I relish in his scent, his heat.

“Open your eyes, Mic,” he orders. “I want you to see this. To see us.”

My only response is a whimper. I have no words.

Only need.

As ordered, I open my eyes.

Pike grazes the back of my neck with his lips. “I want to see your reaction in the mirror as you take my cock. I want you to see mine as I give it to you. I’m not just going to fuck you. This is a message. One I want you to hear loud and fucking clear so that there will be no more misunderstandings between us.” He reaches between my legs under my skirt, cupping my pussy over my damp panties.

I push back against him with a loud groan. Pike holds me in place, pushing my panties down my legs before resuming his touch, this time against bare and soaking wet flesh.

He groans when he feels what’s waiting for him. “This belongs to me.” He wraps an arm around my shoulder, closing a hand over my throat, biting at my earlobe. His next words are both a statement and a warning, delivered while the shaft of his thick cock presses against the cleft of my ass.

“You. Belong. To. Me.”

Hooked on Her by Stacey Lynn ~ Blog Tour w/ 4 Star Review & Excerpt!

“Stacey Lynn always knows how to perfectly balance sexy and sweet.”
New York Times bestselling author Lauren Layne

Hooked on Her, an all-new fun and flirty forbidden romance from Stacey Lynn is out now!

Tessa Chauncy is the best kind of trouble. Beautiful, sweet and completely off limits. I’ve sat by and watched other men drool after her and forced myself to stay in check. Hey, I’m in the NHL… I have self-control in spades.

Except when it comes to her.

With the bat of her lashes and quick whip of that sharply pointed tongue Tessa can knock grown men to their knees. I’ve seen them wither and crumble under her confident stare— something I’m pretty sure she learned from sparring with me, thankyouverymuch.

But I’m not just falling for her. I’m down for the count.

She’s the girl I wanted, when wanting her was wrong.
She’s also my new roommate–
And oh yeah, my best friend’s little sister.

Heaven help me, I’m probably going to get his fist to my face or his hockey stick shoved in very dangerous places for what I’m about to do, but I don’t think I care anymore.

I’m in love with my best friend’s little sister….and I’m done waiting.

This was a cute little book that was well written and definitely kept my attention. It’s a little sister/brother’s best friend romance. Tessa has had a rough go. Her now ex-fiancé has drained her savings and cleaned out everything in their apartment in Toronto. She is completely deflated and devastated.

She goes to North Carolina to stay with her hockey playing brother and girlfriend to figure out her next move. Only while there, she has to put up with her brother Sawyer’s best friend Jason. When they say there is a thin line between love and hate, it rings true between Tessa and Jason. They are downright mean to each other and have been for years! But is it because they hate each other or out of sexual frustration for each other??? Once Jason finds out that Tessa is no longer engaged and staying in the United States, he knows it’s the perfect time to finally tell her how he has always felt about her.

Will these two fight feelings that have been brewing for years or will Tessa pack up and head back to Toronto? This was a great little love story that had funny one liners, heartfelt moments and some steamy scenes. I enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more in this series.

I scoop more chicken onto a folded chunk of naan and moan as I savor the taste. There are some decent restaurants where I live, all within walking distance, which is a bonus, but none are as good as Tandor’s. I can’t even piece together what makes it so delicious but it’s mouth-watering amazing.

“Jesus, Tessa. Can you not sound like you’re having an orgasm when you eat?”

I choke on my chicken and wash it down with my water. “Don’t like it, you can leave.”

“But then I won’t be able to share with you why I’m here.”

The chicken I’ve devoured rolls in my stomach. Obviously it’s not because he’s a nice guy. I lean back in my chair. “What is it?”

He huffs a laugh and I hate he looks so damn good, smirking at me, shaking his head like I’m some amusing little thing.

“You’re cute, Tessa. I ever tell you that?”

“I think the day you took me to get stitches in my head, yeah. You bopped me on the nose with a finger and said ‘cute and tough, nice’ before ignoring me the rest of the weekend.”

I’m mortified with myself. He’s not supposed to know these things, know how much I remember every.single.encounter with him ever.

His mouth opens a bit and he stares at me. Yeah. That dose of word vomit probably surprises the hell out of him too. But hell, in for a penny. He says he doesn’t give a shit about what Sawyer thinks? He should know what I think.

“I’m pretty sure that’s the day I started having a crush on you.”

He doesn’t take his eyes off me as he chews on what I think is chicken tikki masala. Slowly, he swallows and sets his own fork down. Leaning forward, elbows on the table, I’m tempted to drop my gaze to his mouth and watch his full lips move so sexily as he opens his mouth and asks, “Want to know when it started for me? When I started facing the reality that it was my best friend’s little sister that made my dick hard in my dreams at night and when I was on the road?”

Falling for Her by Monica Murphy ~ Blog Tour w/ 4 Star Review & Excerpt!

I sort of hate how good looking he is. And then again, I sort of love it.

Falling for Her by New York Times and USA Today bestselling author, Monica Murphy is now live!

Jake Callahan. Prince of the popular crowd.

My mortal enemy.

Gorgeous. All the girls want him.

Quarterback. All the boys want to be his friend. He’s the most popular boy in the senior class.

And he hates me.

Or so I thought.

What I mistook for hatred turns out to be…interest. There’s that thin line, right? It makes me crazy. I can’t stand it. Attraction, chemistry, whatever it is, I also can’t resist it.

And neither can he.

Together, we make no sense. The odds are against us. His friends definitely don’t approve. I’m not a part of their crowd. Not one of the cool kids. I don’t fit in, or so they say.

But that doesn’t stop him from falling for me.

And it won’t stop me from fighting for him.

Falling for Her is the second installment of the Callahan series and in this book we get Jake’s story. It’s his senior year and Jake is feeling overwhelmed with the pressure and expectations coming at him from every direction. Pressure from his dad to play his best as starting quarterback. Pressure from his friends to win the championship. Pressure from his skanky ex-girlfriend to just give in and give them another chance. Everyone has always wanted something from him until he meets Hannah.

“There’s no me and Jake Callahan. Now or ever.”

Hannah Walsh has always been content blending into the background at school. She has her two best friends and it’s their senior year. She doesn’t need or want anything else. Or so she thought. And why is Jake Callahan, the most popular guy in school, all the sudden asking her to wear his game jersey when he hasn’t spoke two words to her in all the years they’ve been in the same school? I mean who the hell does he think he is? Yes, he’s gorgeous and all sorts of broody but Hannah doesn’t care how hot he is or how much she can’t seem to stay away from him. She doesn’t trust him or his intensions. No way is she letting Jake Callahan anywhere near her.

“I sort of hate how good looking he is. And then again, I sort of love it.”

Hannah and Jake are polar opposites. He’s the super hot and popular king of the school. You know the one all the guys want to be friends with and all the girls want to tame. Hannah is shy, smart and doesn’t fit in with the popular crowd. But these two sure fit together perfectly. I love how they break down each other’s walls and grow as characters as they destroy the preconceived notion that two people so opposite won’t work. We get to see Jake and Hannah in a whole new light as the book progresses and I really liked both their characters. Although it did take Jake some time to grow on me. This was a quick, sweet and light read chocked full of high school drama and angst. I enjoyed it and I am definitely looking forward to Ava’s book next!

“You’re all I think about.”

Hannah settles into the chair closest to mine, a sketchpad in her hands. She flips through it, and I can see page after page of drawings, some of them so realistic I want to tell her to stop so I can really check them out, but I keep quiet. I’m not about to bring attention to myself again. I don’t want to get kicked out of the class.

I freaking need this class.

By the time Sanborne is done talking and telling all of us to try our hand at drawing, I feel like I’m about to burst with my need to talk to Hannah. “You mad at me?”

Her head bent, she’s concentrating on the movements of her pencil across the paper. “What?” she asks distractedly.

“Hannah.” She glances up at me when I say her name, those pretty blue eyes extra wide. “Are you mad at me?”

She frowns. “Why do you think I’m mad at you?”

“Oh, I don’t know. Maybe it’s the way you’ve avoided me since class started,” I tell her. “I was the last person you gave a sketchpad to.”

“Maybe I saved the best for last?” she says weakly.

I don’t smile. I don’t say a word. This usually works for me.

But Hannah’s quiet too. And stubborn. I can tell by the jut of her chin. The way she studies me, her expression blank.

Damn. She’s good.

“Are you only going to talk to me on Snap, but not at school?” I ask, my voice low.

She blinks rapidly, like she can’t believe what I just said. “No.

“That’s what it seems like.”

A sigh escapes her and she drops her head, refocusing on the sketchpad. “I don’t know how to talk to you.”

“In person.” She looks up, then immediately looks away. “I’m an idiot.”

A smile starts to curl my lips and I immediately tell myself to stop. “You’re not an idiot.”

“I’m sorry if I hurt your feelings,” she murmurs morosely.

“You’re forgiven.”

She lifts her head when I say that, her plump lips turned upward, and I’m hit with a sudden flash of wanting to kiss her.

Yeah. No. Not going to happen.

“Great, thanks so much,” she returns, then gestures toward my blank sketchpad. “You better get started. She’s going to want to check out your technique.”

“I’ve got the best technique in this school, don’t you know?” I can’t help but say, and Hannah’s cheeks turn pink again.

She’s really cute when she blushes.

“Don’t be a perv,” she says, grabbing my discarded pencil and pointing it toward me. “Start drawing.”

“Do I have to?” I slide my fingers onto hers, my thumb curling around hers before I pluck the pencil from her grip.

“Y-yes. You do.” Her voice is shaky, and I wonder if my touch affected her.

I hope it did. All I have to do is look at her and she affects me.

Whatever’s happening between us is confusing as hell.

“I didn’t listen to a word the teacher said,” I tell Hannah, and she scoots her chair closer to mine, launching into the same lecture Sanborne did, almost word for word.

I listen to the rhythm of Hannah’s speech, the excited way she speaks. She loves art, I can tell, and she genuinely wants to help me. I stare at her mouth, the way it moves, how her front teeth protrude the slightest bit, giving her this sexy overbite. I’m fucking entranced, caught up in her spell and when she finishes lecturing me with the faintest smile on her face, all I can do is smile in return.

“Oh. So you do smile,” she says softly.

I turn it into a frown. “No I don’t.”

She laughs, and I soak up the sound.

It’s just as pretty as I thought it would be.

Fortuity is the third book in the Transcend series by Jewel E. Ann but it can be read as a standalone. This book was like a much needed breath of fresh air. Lately I’ve found myself sticking to a few specific genres and I tend to lean more toward the dark side of things. But this book was light hearted, fresh and funny. I loved that it was so different. I really don’t remember the last time I read a book that had me laughing so hard that I was crying but the tears were rolling down my face so many times during this one. It was sweet, funny and endearing. There was also a ton of angst and a whole lot of swooning. Lots of feels in this book!

Gracelyn finds herself navigating a whole new normal when a tragic accident leaves her the guardian of her ten-year-old nephew Gabe. This is definitely not how she planned for her life to be at this point but sometimes things change when we least expect them. She uproots herself and moves to San Diego to keep Gabe in his school and close to his friends. She rents a beach house apartment from Mr. Hans, a sweet older widower, who turns out to be one of my very favorite characters in this story. It just so happens Mr. Hans owns the house next door too and it’s currently rented out to anatomy professor Nate and his ten-year-old daughter Morgan for the summer. Perfect. A friend for Gabe and Gracelyn is on a self-appointed man ban so it’s no problem that professor Nate is not only single but also extremely hot, right? Wrong. The sexual chemistry is off the charts for these two right from the get-go.

“If I stay, I might forget that I’m not supposed to want you to kiss me.”

Nate hasn’t been with a woman since his wife died ten years ago. Well you know, besides the whole situation with the Nanny. He’s devoted all his time to showing his daughter the world but now they are spending the summer in San Diego before moving home and putting down roots. He finds himself intrigued by his beautiful and quirky summer neighbor, Gracelyn.

“She’s beautiful. My ability to stand this close to her and think without feeling guilty means I’m not a broken man.”

The four of them form a beautiful small gang along with their side kick, sweet Mr. Hans. The kids and the adults all desperately needed each other even if they didn’t know it at first. I loved watching their relationships grow and change over the course of the summer. I absolutely adored Nate…like some serious swooning was going on over here. I mean hello neighbor! Gracelyn was also a force to be reckoned. She was pretty awesome and I loved how much she cared for Gabe. Stolen kisses, talking dead boyfriends from the past, broken man bans and an impending move are all just some of the obstacles Nate and Gracelyn deal with on their journey. But is there a chance at a happily ever after for these two or is one beautiful summer all they will have?

“It was you…the idea of you. The dream of you.”

I highly enjoyed so many things in this book. The banter between the characters was fantastic as were the characters themselves. So why not five stars? Yeah I know this may be an unpopular opinion but I wasn’t a huge fan of some of the stuff with Morgan. Guess I just didn’t find it funny for a ten-year-old. It kind of irked me and just stuck with me. But that’s just me. Besides that I loved this story and really needed something light, sweet and funny to read and Fortuity delivered. I definitely look forward to reading more from this author!

“What took you two so long? Don’t worry, we saved you some cake.” Mr. Hans smiles from his recliner with Hunter on the sofa, her thumbs dancing along her phone screen. Gabe will get along well with her.

“Cake, Morgan?”

My steps falter when I hear Nate’s voice from the kitchen.

Mr. Hans winks at me. “I invited Nate for cake too.”

I nod slowly. “I see. Whose birthday is it?”

“Life is a celebration. Cake needs no excuse.”

So much for having some time to digest what Nate said to me and my flirty reaction to his kiss comment. I put on a neutral face and drag my timid ass into the kitchen.

“Cake, Gracelyn?” Nate glances up from the counter, a knife in one hand and a plate in his other hand.

“Mmm … yes, Gracelyn. You want cake.” Morgan rolls her eyes back in her head as she slowly chews a bite, standing next to Nate.

How am I supposed to look at him when I saw him barely an hour ago and he said he wanted to kiss me, and I returned the desire without the actual kiss? I guess we’re going to be two people who want to kiss but know that it will never happen.

“Thank you.” I take the cake, giving Nate a two-second glance. It’s all I can give him without completely self-combusting into a pile of ashes.

“Mr. Hans … this is so good.” Morgan traipses out of the kitchen.

“It is good. I haven’t had cake in a long time.” I slowly lick the frosting from the fork.

Nate glances at the floor, eyes narrowed, and hunches down. After a few seconds, I move around to his side of the island.

“Did you drop something?”

Hunched like a baseball catcher, gaze still to the floor, he crooks a finger at me.

I set my plate on the counter. “Did you lose a contact lens?” I squat next to him behind the counter.

He lifts his gaze to meet my squinted eyes. The corner of his mouth bends just as his hand slides behind my head and his lips press to mine.

What the hell?

My lungs freeze while my heart pauses and my mind explodes. There’s no tongue to this kiss, just hungry lips. It knocks me off balance, and I fall to my knees, resting my hands on his shoulders.

Nate pulls back half an inch, letting his lips hover next to mine, the warmth of his breath covering my stunned mouth. “I’m not even sorry.” He shrugs.

My mouth opens as if it wants to speak, but I have no idea what to say.

“Dad …”

Nate bolts up, leaving me on my knees. “Yes?”

“Can Hunter use—” Morgan’s eyes narrow at me, my head barely peeking over the counter. “Gracelyn, what are you doing?”

“I’m …” I give her a tight smile.

Nate says, “Picking up a few crumbs.”

At the same time, I say, “Tying your dad’s shoe.”

His explanation is much better.

Morgan laughs. “Um … okay. You’re both acting weird.”

I climb to my feet.

“Can Hunter use what?” Nate asks.

“Your bike so we can go for a bike ride.”

“Are you going to stay around here?”

Morgan nods. “Pinky swear. We won’t go too far.”

“I’ll need to put the seat down for her.”

“Yes! Thanks, Dad. I’ll go tell her.” Morgan runs out of the kitchen.

Nate covers the cake with plastic wrap and nods to my plate with the half-eaten piece of cake. “Are you going to finish that?”

Cake. He wants to talk about the cake?

My head inches side to side.

“Too good to let it go to waste.” He picks up the plate and finishes my cake.

“By the way …” His gaze remains on the plate as he scoops up the last bite. “Morgan knows I know how to tie my own shoes.”
