The Beauty of Us by Kristen Proby is the 4th book in the fusion series. To say I feel in love with this series in an understatement! This series takes us on an adventure as these fun loving best friends navigate their way of owning successful restaurant business and eventually falling in love. I seriously want to jump in these books and become part of their world- luckily for us Kirsten allows us to do just that! Although each book can be read as a standalone it is truly better to read them all in order so you get a better understanding of each character.

The Beauty of Us gives us the story of Riley and Trevor. Trevor has been burned in the past from his ex-wife but doesn’t let that negativity bring him down in life while Riley hasn’t had the best of luck when it comes to dating. As fate would have it, it takes a simple vent session to her friends about her latest online match up that Riley fails to recognize the guy who just so happens to be sitting at the bar-Trevor the man in charge of the filming that is happening at the restaurant. Trevor can’t help but overhear Riley and offers up a bit of advice-stop the online dating and let him take her out to show her how a real date should go. Although they are technically colleagues Riley decides to give a go. The chemistry between the two of them is off the charts. I couldn’t help falling in love with Trevor! He is funny, hot, sensitive… pretty much everything you want in a boyfriend! I love how authentic both Riley and Trevor are and how their relationship just flowed so well. As with all relationships the good times happen as do the bad times but it’s how we deal with those bad times that either make or break us. I love how genuine both Riley and Trevor were when trying to make it through the bad times. If you are looking for a read that will make you and your heart happy this is the book!

As always I look forward to the next book that Kristen gives us as I love getting lost in her stories!!

The Wright Mistake By K.A Linda~ 5 Star Review

A new stand alone enemies-to-lovers romance by USA Today bestselling author K.A. Linde…

I spent six weeks screwing Austin Wright’s brains out and all I got was this broken heart.

He can’t be trusted. Not with my body or my heart. Yet, two years have passed and I still crave him like an addict needing a fix.

The last time we tried this, it nearly ruined me. I know I should run and never look back. But his dark haunted eyes and razor blade smile speak to my soul. His touch sets my body on fire. And we all know what happens when you light gasoline. Someone is bound to get burned.

A second chance might destroy us both.

Because everyone knows two wrongs don’t make a Wright.

I am such a huge fan of K.A.Linde so of course the moment this book appeared on my kindle I jumped right in to start reading. Seriously, I even called my boss telling them I was running late from traffic just so I could at least get one chapter in before I headed into work. I have been such a fan of this series since the first book (each can be read as a standalone) and each book being about one of the siblings that you can’t help but fall in love with keeps me on my toes and my heart happy.

The Wright Mistake takes us on the roller coaster journey of Austin and Julia and seriously- it is quite a journey. It is no surprise, as it has been talked about in the previous books, that Austin likes to have a few drinks. Well, maybe saying a few drinks is putting it lightly when in reality Austin has a drinking problem. (Even before jumping into this book I knew we would be dealing with some heavy topics and I love that K.A.Linde did not hold back.) So Julia and Austin previously dated and their chemistry was undeniable/off the charts however it didn’t last long and their relationship ended in a bitter breakup. As fate would have it- what was supposed to be a fun weekend away for Julia, she ends up being a stuck in a house with Austin and his entire family. Although not in a relationship anymore Austin isn’t opposed to trying to rekindle what him and Julia had in the bedroom however Julia is not on board with that… in the beginning. However as their journey unfolds Austin soon realizes that his carefree lifestyle does not come without consequences. In what he assumed was something that would be rightfully handed to him he soon starts to understand the severity of how his choosen lifestyle affects every aspect of his life. While Julia and Austin attempt to give their relationship ago again Julia’s past comes knocking back while Austin tries his hardest to kick his dependency. Unfortunately life does not always go the way we want it to and it can deal us cards we are not equipped to handle. Will Julia be able to forge ahead despite the past and will Austin be able to overcome his strong addictions so they both can find happiness together? Seriously pick up this book to find out and buckle up!

From the very beginning of this book to the last page I was so wrapped up in this story that it was all I can think about. K. A. Linde did such a great job at discussing such a hard topic. She made is as realistic as it is and was very truthful in how it affects not only the person but the people around them. I loved Julia and Austin as a couple- they were not perfect people but who in real life is? They felt real- their struggles, successes, everything was just real! Despite the fact that this book was about them, the side stories in the book gripped my heart just as much and I cannot wait for the future books in the series. Do yourself a favor and not only read this book but the entire series so far if you have not done already.

From USA Today bestselling author Meghan March comes the final sexy standalone set in the Beneath world of New Orleans.

I used to believe there were lines in life you don’t cross.
Don’t lie. Don’t cheat. Don’t steal.
Until I learned people don’t always practice what they preach.
I turned in my badge and gun and walked away from everything.
Then I got the call no one wants, and I’m back in New Orleans.
What I don’t expect is for her to be here too.
Another line you don’t cross?
Don’t touch your best friend’s little sister.

Rhett feels like he’s been burnt by his family. He was taught to obey the law. Follow his family into law enforcement. Be the example. Except that’s not what his father and brother did. As much as he tries to escape and walk away, he is called back to New Orleans and his family. But now he has to deal with Ariel Sampson too, his best friend’s little sister. She’s always been off limits for him but being forced together, will the two be able to avoid the connection they’ve always felt?

“Figure out what you want and go after it.

That’s exactly what I was doing. My life was in ashes, so this was the time to rebuild. Something new. Something good. With Ari.

And right now, I needed some of that good.”

Omg! She did it again and I don’t ever want this series to end! You have no idea how much I wanted Rhett to find his happy. This story had my emotions flying all over the place with figuring out what was happening with Rhett’s Dad’s investigation and who all could be involved. Ariel seemed like such a smart and savvy woman with how she dealt with her business, the threats and even Rhett. He definitely met his match when he started pursuing Ari. The tying up of this series was perfectly executed with this story. All of the characters made a cameo and gave us a sneak peek into their lives. I can’t wait for the spin off with Lachlan Mount coming this Fall.

If you need some alpha bad boys in your romance books, look no further. Meghan March writes the BEST stories that will get you all hot and bothered. If you haven’t read this series or need to catch up, what are you waiting for? I love each and every one of these guys and can’t wait to see who’s next for me to fall in love with.

eKindle Review by: Jen

Ahhh I can’t even tell you how pumped I get when a Meghan March book appears on my kindle. I always know I am in for an amazing ride and probably a good book hangover that leaves me waiting to reread all her other books. I have been WAITING, not so patiently I should add, for the Beneath the Truth to come out. This was the first series of Meghan’s that I read and have been hooked by her and this series ever sense. Beneath the Truth finally gives us the story of Rhett Hennessy (gosh his name even just seeps sexiness). We have seen little bits of Rhett throughout the entire series but now we get an up close and personal encounter of who he is. To say I feel in love with him is  a HUGE understatement. I had a feeling that this book would be amazing and I hate to admit it but I set some pretty big expectations of this book that I hoped Meghan would be able to reach. She not only reached these expectations but she straight up throat punched them and knocked this book out of the park!!!

Beneath the Truth picks  right up with the intensity and sexiness that we expect in the Beneath Series. We are introduced to Ariel, the woman who has always been off limits to Rhett as it is his best friend’s little sister. She has brains, beauty, a bit of awkwardness that you just cant help but fall in love with her. There were times where I couldn’t help but crack up at what came out of her mouth. Ariel has always had a crush on Rhett but knew that nothing would ever come of it because Rhett never paid her any attention- or so she thought. Years later when they both find themselves back in New Orleans for reasons out of their control both of them realize that the crush has never disappeared and the invisibility that one felt was truly an act to try and stay away. As events unravel and puts both Rhett and Ariel in danger it is up to the both of them to figure out who close to them is not who they expect and if the feelings and chemistry they have for one another is fit for the long haul.

Gosh I am so sad to see these series end. I loved every single book of this series. Thankfully Meghan gives us the MOST EPIC EPILOGUE EVER!! I don’t want to go into to much detail about it but it leaves you with a huge smile on your face and an urge to start the entire series all over again (which I a currently doing an entire reread J ) Thank you Meghan for giving us Rhett’s story-the wait was so worth it and you crushed it! I am HIGHLY anticipating your new release and pretty much anything else you write!

Wham. My heart slammed against my ribs as it sped up about twenty beats per minute.

The heat and delicious woodsy citrus scent radiating from his body did good things to me. Things that made me want to do very bad things to him. I wasn’t a seventeen-year-old virgin anymore. I knew my way around a man, but I had to admit, the hipsters in Cali had nothing on a homegrown Louisiana man like Rhett.

When he spoke, he leaned in so close that I could feel his breath on my ear. “You missed that shot on purpose.”

My gaze jumped from the sexy five o’clock shadow shading his jaw to his piercing green eyes.

“Wha-what are you talking about?” I smacked myself mentally when my old stammer kicked in. Of course he would cause it.

“That shot. You missed on purpose. I saw you adjust at the last minute. Why?”

I swallowed the saliva pooling in my mouth and decided to take the safest exit from this situation. Lying.

“Cue slipped.”

His eyes narrowed on me. “You’re lying and you’re terrible at it, just like you’ve always been.” He reached up and pressed his thumb to my left eyebrow. “You get a twitch right here.”

Oh my God. Rhett Hennessy is touching me. And what’s more . . . he knows my tell. He noticed me!

The fifteen-year-old inside me did a terrible cartwheel at the realization. Okay, more of a round-off. With a tumble in the grass to finish. Whatever.

But outwardly, I was trapped in that green gaze until he decided to let me go—or until I came to my senses.

I cleared my throat and sidestepped him. “Whatever you say, hotshot. I need another drink.”

Focusing on putting one four-inch heel in front of the other without biting it, I escaped to the table and reached for the whiskey glass I’d left behind, interrupting my brother and the waitress. They both stared at me as I chugged the contents.

I’d always wondered what it would feel like to have Rhett’s attention, and now I knew. In a word, it was . . . unnerving.

“How’s the game going?” my brother asked.

“Fine.” Keeping my answer short meant he couldn’t tell that I was lying. Heath wasn’t nearly as observant as Rhett.

“You winning?”

Thanking the Lord that Heath obviously hadn’t been watching, I shrugged. “I guess.”

He glanced toward Rhett and then back to me. “The sister I know and love doesn’t lose at pool. Ever. Even to Rhett Hennessy.”

I lowered the glass to the table and straightened my shoulders. “Like they say, things change.”

He nodded slowly. “That may be true about most things, Flounder. But you’re a pool shark and we both know it.”

Before I could respond, Heath’s attention jumped back to the waitress. I took another ten seconds to gather myself, also known as drinking offensively in my mind, before I crossed the floor to face off against my former obsession.

“You all right, Red?” Rhett asked.

“Don’t call me that. And I’ve never been better.”

His gaze dipped to my feet and dragged up my body. “I can agree with that statement.”

Whoa. Who is this guy with the innuendo? A glance at his empty whiskey glass told me he was drinking heavily as well. Was this the booze talking? Or was Rhett Hennessy not just noticing me, but noticing me?

Either way, I had to play it cool. Or at least pretend to play it cool, since it seemed I might fall short.

“Your turn, hotshot. Better not miss, because I’ll clear the table next time,” I said, but my cocky attitude backfired.

Rhett didn’t miss. He sank his balls and then the eight, ending the game almost as quickly as it started. He returned his cue to the rack and turned to face me, all traces of the earlier heat banked, his expression shuttered.

“Game over.”

What the hell just happened?

Once again K. Bromberg knocks it out of the park 😉 But in all honestly when hasn’t K. Bromberg written pure gold!! This book was everything you wished for- especially if you read The Player. The Catch picks up right where The Player left off and the intensity in the first chapter sets the pace for the entire book. I honestly did not want to put the book down. I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough as I found myself obsessed with the conclusion of Easton and Scout’s story. I fell in love with this couple during The Player and that only intensified as their story continued to unfold in The Catch.  The Catch has everything you want in a conclusion of a duet—passion, secrets revealed (and boy are some a doozie!), love, friendship, soul searching, hot sex… the list goes on and on! You need to read this duet as the story is unforgettable! Easton and Scout are a couple who  have imbedded themselves in my heart. I just love them. Their storylines are so real and raw. I felt as if I was living their life with them. This duet will clearly be added into my “reread” circulation. Thank you K. Bromberg for another AMAZING 5 STAR story and as always I look forward to seeing what you give us next.

Once a Disciple, forever a Disciple.

Cami was born into the Savage Disciples MC, but she ventured out to build a life of her own away from the club. She’s engaged now, living a new life despite missing the bikers that raised her. Overall, she’s… fine.
Sure, fine. She’s fine with the fiancé who is more interested in position and image than the woman in his life. She’s fine with the fake people around and the suffocating passive aggression. She’s fine with the fact that she is turning to drugs to self-medicate.

A Disciple will fight like a savage for what he wants.

When Gauge tags along to visit his club brother’s daughter, he can’t believe the two women he meets: the fiery daughter of a biker and the puppet with the blank affect. And yet, they’re both Cami.
He sees the fire beneath surface, and he wants to watch it burn. He wants to rip away the man smothering her like a wet blanket. He wants to see the flames consume that cookie-cutter future-wife facade to the ground and dance with her in the flames.

When this biker clutches onto a Disciple’s daughter, there is no letting go.

Clutch by Drew Elyse is the 1st book in her Savage Disciples series and gives us the story of Cami and Gauge. Cami was born and raised in the MC lifestyle but leaves it behind when she goes off to college and falls in love. Although she is engaged to her college sweetheart Cami doesn’t realize how unhappy with her life she is until her father and Gauge, another MC member, come and pay her a visit. The initial meeting between Cami and Gauge you can just feel the chemistry burning off the page between the two. What was just a change random meeting grows into an unexpected friendship/flirting between the two. It isn’t until Cami vents to Guage about her life that he lets loose his true thoughts about her and the life she is living. Although totally pissed at him for saying what she said- it is the hard reality that Cami is living. She realizes that this life she is living is not the one she wants and takes the action to set her life on the path she wants. Guage couldn’t be more ecstatic to hear that Cami is not only leaving her unhappy life behind but she is coming to him. As Cami and Gauge set forth on this new journey of trying to make it together they soon realize that although their chemistry is off the charts there are outside forces that may be hell bent on trying to keep them apart.

I read some of the other books in the series so I was excited to read the first book and see how the series got started. I really liked how Drew writes her characters and story. There were a few parts where I felt it was a bit rushed but that is me just being greedy and not wanting the story to end. If you are a MC genre fan this is definitely a great read! You won’t be disappointed.

Lost Rider by Harper Sloan is one of those emotionally charged books that you can’t put down and once you finish reading you can’t stop thinking about the characters. I was so desperate to read this book that I found myself sneaking breaks in at work just to read one more page. I was THAT addicted to the story and invested that much in the characters. As I saw the number of pages dwindle down on my kindle as I read the story I couldn’t help but get mad because I did not want their story to end… ever! But that is just me being super greedy!

As with all her books, Harper, gives us amazing characters that you not only root for and fall in love with but find pieces of yourself in them as well. Lost Rider is the story of Maverick and Leighton who have been in each other’s lives their entire life. Leighton is best friends with Maverick’s little sister Quinn and has always had a crush on Maverick and when she finally has the courage to step up and tell him her world is crushed by words that can never be taken back. As her world is crushed and heart is broken Maverick makes good on a promise that he has always said would happen- he leaves everything and everyone behind to chase his dreams. It’s only years later, when his dreams are no longer attainable and his family needs him back home, does Maverick make the journey back to the place he promised he would never return to. As years of pent up anger and desire combust will Leighton and Maverick be able to put the past behind them and move on together? Or are the wounds they each carry too deep to heal that will allow them to move on?

Let me start off by saying that Maverick is the ultimate cowboy…and…. really makes me want to pack my bags and move to Texas. He is the kind of man that opens doors for his lady *swoon*, knows his way around the bedroom *wink* , and can admit when he makes a mistake (although it may take him a loooonnnngggg time to admit it but who cares can we get an hallelujah for a guy realizing and correcting his mistakes!) Leighton is your girl next door whose insecurities have sometimes kept her from coming out of her shell but refuses to shut her mouth when she has something on her mind. I LOVED her for her fierceness, what she perceived as her flaws, and her ability to speak her mind and stand up for what she believes in. She is one strong lady! Leighton and Maverick’s chemistry can seriously make sheets on a bed combust! WOW!! Their passion, desire, and love is off the charts. I loved reading about them and their story. I just have to say how much I loved the relationship between Leighton and Quinn. Their friendship is one that is loyal and unbreakable and I can’t wait to read more about their friendship!

Thank you Harper Sloan for once again giving us an amazing story. I am looking forward to the next installment in this series!

Excerpt

I should tell Quinn and Clay that he’s here. But one look at him and it’s like the last ten years have never passed and I’m back at the bonfire, the awkward high schooler uncomfortable in her own skin. Marching away from him in the woods. It was the last time I saw him. How is it possible that he can affect me this much after all this time?

He hasn’t noticed me, not with his head bowed, so I quickly turn around and focus on Pastor John as he finishes up his prayer. Him being here means nothing. I should be happy that I remember the pain from that night so well, it will make keeping my walls up around him so much easier.

“On behalf of the Davis family, I want to thank everyone for coming today. At this time, the family has asked for some time alone as they say their good-byes. They wanted me to remind everyone that the PieHole will be opening up for a few hours tonight starting at five for anyone that wishes to join them.”

I keep my arm around Quinn, not looking back to where I saw Maverick. I can hear the church slowly emptying and I feel a frown pull at my lips. I had hoped that when everyone started to leave that he would have come up front to be with his family, but so far, the pew we’re in is still empty save for the three of us. We sit and wait for everyone to leave, something that Clay had asked Pastor John to make arrangements for in place of the customary recessional, knowing that no one in this town would really mean a word of it anyway. Plus, I know Quinn is having a hard time. Regardless of the fact that she wasn’t the closest with her father, she was really counting on this—Maverick home. She’s still shaking in my arms, but when I look over at Clay I realize his silence isn’t because of the heaviness of Buford’s death, but instead anger over his brother’s absence that has started to build to a boil. I fear that he’s seconds away from tipping over the edge.

I stand when Clay and Quinn do, but hang back at the edge of the row we had been sitting in as they meet Pastor John and gather their father’s ashes. I can’t wait to get out of these heels. If it would have been acceptable to wear my boots, I would have, but Quinn would have killed me. As it is, I feel like I can’t take a deep breath with how tight my dress is against my chest. I never wear tight shirts. I haven’t since my boobs became beasts of their own right. I’m too busy fiddling with the straps of my dress, trying desperately to get some of the pressure against my chest to ease up so I could take a deep breath, when I heard Quinn gasp.

“Mav!” Next thing I know she’s running past where I’m standing, her black hair streaming in the air behind her as she speeds forward right into her brother’s arms. Clay moves to stand next to me and I look up to meet his green eyes, the questions he isn’t vocalizing dancing in their emerald depths. He’s not stupid and I’m doing a crappy job at hiding the memories haunting me right now. He gives me a small smile, shifting his hold on the urn to wrap his free arm around me and pulls me into a strong hold.

“You’re shakin’,” he says against my temple and I just nod.

“I’m good, Clay. Go see your brother.”

“I’m fine right where I am, sugar.”

I keep my eyes to the ground, focusing on his worn boots instead of looking up, hating myself for making this moment about me when I should be focused on them. Like it or not, I can’t fight the feelings that being near him bring me. I’m that stupid, naive sixteen-year-old all over again. “Let’s get out of here,” he says after a few silent seconds. I look up and give him a smile, hoping that it looks a hell of a lot braver than I feel. Inside I feel like I might puke.

“You think I could have a second with my family?”

My head shoots up at the coldness I hadn’t anticipated in Maverick’s voice. He’s not focused on me, though, instead looking at his brother with a hard expression and one brow raised upward.

“Mav!” Quinn gasps and he moves his attention from his brother to her.

“Sorry, Quinn, but I’m thinkin’ that Clay’s lady friend would understand that this should be a moment for our family and give us time alone.”

“I’ll just—”

“Don’t you dare finish that sentence, sugar,” Clay all but spits through clenched teeth and drops his arm to take a step forward. “You’ve got something to say, Mav, then say it.”

“Nothing to say, Clayton, I just think it would be nice for your girlfriend to give us some space.”

“My girlfriend,” he parrots sarcastically, his deep voice vibrating in anger.

“Mav.” Quinn attempts to butt in, but stops when Maverick leaves her side and turns to stalk out of the church. I should find it comical that he obviously didn’t recognize me, or hell, maybe he did and he’s just picking up where he left off ten years ago in the middle of the dark woods. I take a deep breath. “It’s okay. He’s right. Y’all need some time as a family. I’ll head over to the PieHole and start settin’ up for tonight.”

Quinn brushes a tear from her cheek and just shakes her head. I look at Clay to see him staring in the direction that his brother just left.

“You’re family,” he finally says, not looking in my direction.

“Clay, really, it’s okay. It’s been a long time since y’all were back together and I don’t need to be there for that reunion. It sucks that it takes all of this to finally bring him home, but he’s here and y’all need to make up for a lot of time lost.”

“Shut up, Leighton.”

“Don’t, Clay.”

“Don’t what? You’ve got every right to be here. You’re just as much a part of our family as he is. Hell, maybe even more so than he is at this point. So just shut up, come with us, and ignore him.”

I shake my head, the fight instantly leaving my sails, knowing I would be arguing until the end of time if I

pressed this issue.

“I can’t believe he doesn’t even recognize you,” Quinn whispers.

Easton Wylder is baseball royalty. The game is his life. His passion. His everything.

So, when an injury threatens to end Easton’s season early, the team calls in renowned physical therapist, Doc Dalton, to oversee his recovery. Except it’s not Doc who greets Easton for his first session, but rather, his daughter, Scout. She may be feisty, athletic, defiant, and gorgeous, but Easton is left questioning whether she has what it takes to help him.

Scout Dalton’s out to prove a female can handle the pressure of running the physical therapy regimen of an MLB club. And that proof comes in the form of getting phenom Easton Wylder back on the field. But getting him healthy means being hands-on.

And with a man as irresistible as Easton, being hands-on can only lead to one thing, trouble. Because the more she touches him, the more she wants him, and she can’t want him. Not when it’s her job to maintain the club’s best interest, in regards to whether he’s ready to play.

But when sparks fly and fine lines are crossed, can they withstand the heat, or is one of them bound to get burned?

I am having a hard time trying to figure out how to write this review because I feel praise alone is not enough. I have been a HUGE K. Bromberg fan ever since I got my greedy hands on Driven. She sucked me in as a loyal fan and reader and with each book she writes and her grip on me gets stronger and stronger. I refuse to give anything away about the story as I don’t want to spoil it for anyone else but The Player is an amazing story that gives you all the feels!!! I honestly don’t know who I feel more in love with—Easton, the insanely hot baseball player who is trying to live up to his father’s expectations, or  Scout, the therapist who is trying to rehab Easton’s injury and help her father succeed in achieving a lifetime goal.  Both of them have goals they want to obtain but neither one of them expected the connection between them. You can’t help but feel and root for both of them to not only be together but to achieve their goals and aspirations. I got to be honest here—– Scout may be one of my all –time favorite heroines. She is just so real- her honesty and insecurities make her so relatable you can’t help but love her! And Easton— ohhhhhhhhh boyyyyyy!!! Where do I even begin with him! He is book husband material!!!!! I la la la la love him!!!!!

The Player for me has easily become my favorite book by K. Bromberg and let me tell you it was a hard task to beat out Slow Burn! I can’t wait to see what more she gives us this summer….. (yep that’s the only hint I will drop— not sure what I mean.. pick up a copy of the book and you will surly understand!)! As always you will not be disappointed with this book- go one click it and enjoy!!
