Everyone has a best friend. Mine just happens to be Dr. Christian Gallagher— the gorgeous, green-eyed heart surgeon who wants to have a baby with me.

Yes, you read that correctly.

When my mother approached me on my thirty-third birthday with a brochure for egg freezing, it was a glaring reminder that my biological clock is ticking toward its expiration date. I’ve always dreamed of being a mom and had a plan — one that was destroyed when I caught my professional hockey player husband in bed with another woman.

Despite my broken heart I still believe in love. I want the happily ever after, but I also want a child desperately and won’t settle in order to make it happen.

That’s why when I decided to take my mother’s advice, Christian came up with his own plan: Let’s have a baby together.

It’s a bad idea. A really, really bad idea. And yet…I can’t stop thinking about how great it could be.

There’s just one condition. Before we have sex (oh, yes, we’re doing this the old fashioned way!) Christian is adamant we go on three dates.

Sounds easy, but it’s not.I thought sex would be the hard part, but the dates are only making me fall for the man I’ve known almost my entire life.

Whoever said sex doesn’t change things never went to bed with their best friend.

This is a cute, friends to lovers book and was fun to read. It did drag a bit by reiterating some stuff but picked right back up. Christian and Meadow have been friends for years and they have vacationed with their families, spent holidays together. Both of them have had huge crushes on each other but naturally the other doesn’t know it. Not only are they best friends but they work together. Christian is a top notch heart surgeon and Meadow is a nurse who happens to work at Christian’s fathers office.

Meadow has had a failed marriage and is still licking her wounds but her biological clock is ticking and since there is no new men on the horizon, she takes a cue from her mother who suggests freezing her eggs for when she does find someone. Once Christian gets wind of this idea, he has one of his own. For them to have a baby together and not by freezing her eggs…the old fashioned way. Can two friends who have secretly have feelings for each other have sex to create a baby and not fall even harder for each other? Can Meadow stand another heartbreak? Can Christian who is so driven to be the best, have time for a baby? Will he lose Meadow as a best friend if this back fires in there faces? Can Meadow keep her feelings for Christian in control?

Watching these two plan for a baby and get to the point where they have to do the “deed” was so fun to watch. Not only are there some comical moments, it was a romantic story as well. Love scenes were steamy and I loved watching these two realize that maybe a baby won’t be such a bad thing for their friendship after all. Could it make them even closer?

This was a super cute book and was definitely a feel good love story.

First and foremost I really liked this book. The flow was amazing and I devoured it. I love the characters and their chemistry. I wanted more though. I felt like maybe it lost a little bit of steam from book one but by the end, everything worked out as it should. I’ll also be honest and say Lennox really ticked me off a bit. But man oh man, did he get redeemed.

Overall this duet is a must read. I loved it. The sassiness, the silliness and even the seriousness of it was addicting. Magan Vernon nailed this duet.

As soon as I opened the front door, Juniper and the dog ran to each other like they were lifelong friends who hadn’t seen the other in years.

“Princess Cupcake, you’re here!” Juniper cooed, taking the little eight-pound spiky brown-haired dog in her arms. She petted her behind her perky little ears, the dog closing her eyes and panting in response.

“Princess Cupcake?” Roo asked.

I shrugged, looking up to see her and her sister both standing in the doorway.

I was afraid after our talk this afternoon that Rachel wouldn’t come. But seeing her there had me smiling even wider.

“I guess Juniper and I may have to discuss a name change,” I said, stepping aside and letting everyone into the foyer.

“Come on, Princess Cupcake, come see my room.” Juniper and Ariana charged up the stairs.

“Hey, be careful. A dog is a live animal, not a toy,” I yelled on deaf ears since the girls had already ascended the stairs and rounded the corner in a flurry of giggles.

“I’d better check to make sure Squeaky, err, Princess Cupcake is okay,” Roo said before bounding up the stairs after the girls.

I waited a full five seconds before I wrapped my arms around Rachel, crushing my lips to hers.

She stilled as her first reaction then slowly her body melted against mine. Her mouth parting as our tongues met.

Her kisses were sweet like her vanilla lip gloss and strawberry bubblegum. I wanted to stay in that moment with her. To get lost in those lips.

But reality slapped me back when she put her hands on my chest, gently pushing against me until she broke our kiss.

“As much as I enjoy that, I have a feeling there’s something else going on in that pretty blond head of yours. Like maybe you’re still thinking about L.A.?” She raised her eyebrows.

I swallowed hard. “Maybe.”

She blinked. “So, is getting the dog a deciding factor and we’re just here for moral support?” Her words trailed as she caught her swollen lip between her teeth.

Letting out a deep breath, I leaned back, dropping my hands from her waist. “I don’t know, Rach. I’ll be honest. I’m still twisted about the whole thing. I guess I figured the dog would help make this decision.”

“Seriously? After everything earlier today and you still don’t know what you want.” She shook her head, muttering under her breath.

I winced as if her words verbally slapped me. “I know. It’s hard to say no to Trish. It’s a great opportunity in L.A. for Juni and me.”

There’s a thin line between love and hate . . . and it cuts right through the middle of their office.

Bad boys? They run right over good girls like Georgina Keller. But after a confidence-shattering breakup, she’s determined not to let anyone at her new workplace push her around—least of all the brooding creative director, a “bad boy of publishing” who’s made it clear she’s enemy #1.

Sebastian Quinn’s taste for fast cars, late nights, and beautiful women may have gotten him to the top of a leading New York magazine, but the reputation that made him is suddenly threatening to end his career.

Georgina can help Modern Man shed its bad reputation, but in order to do that, she’ll have to start at the top—and no amount of rakish charm or inconvenient attraction will distract her.

Because if Sebastian gets her right where he wants her, it means she’s going down.

Georgina Keller is the fixer…the one you bring in when the company needs a PR makeover. After a bad breakup, she’s determined to be more of her alter ego “George” and quit letting people walk all over her. Sebastian Quinn has been pegged as the media world’s bad boy. He’s the Creative Director at Modern Man and is proud of its unapologetically macho stories and advice. From day one, these two clash and sparks are flying. Will Georgina be able to fit into this testosterone filled environment and keep things strictly business?

“Maybe I couldn’t help being attracted to Georgina’s hot and cold personality, but acting on it wasn’t an option. Not only was she the first person to threaten my career in a long time, but I’d vowed to remove any ice from my life. It was only warm, nice girls from here on out.”

I don’t know why but there was just something about this business enemies to lovers story that ended up being exactly what I was in the mood for. There was so much chemistry with Sebastian and Georgina’s verbal sparring that I found myself anxiously awaiting for them to cross that line. I also loved that deep down they were both good and genuine people. They both just had trust issues to work through. I was just sucked in by their feisty banter and office politics and it just made it addictive to read. A nice book for my Christmas break.

I’ve enjoyed all of Jessica Hawkins’ stories and find myself enthralled by her characters and their complicated lives. This story definitely ranks right up there with the rest of the amazing stories and intriguing lives she creates.

At the stadium’s concession stand, I took a tall stool, putting Georgina and I at eye level since she stood. “So, why didn’t you kiss François?” I asked. “Bad breath?”
She gasped into her hand. “My breath is fine.”
“I meant his. I’m sure yours is pure relish on a hotdog.”
She made a face. “Gross.”
“I happen to love relish,” I said. “But does François?”
Each time I said François with flourish, she flinched. I didn’t care. Something about him bugged me—I just couldn’t put my finger on it.
“We didn’t kiss because you interrupted us,” she pointed out.
“So? If I were in his position, and we both wanted that kiss, I wouldn’t let anyone stop me.”
Frank and I are clicking,” she said, scowling. “There was even mention of spending time at his summerhouse.”
“Hamptons?”
She coughed into her fist. “Boca Raton.”
The idea of Georgina spending a summer with him in Boca Raton was tragic enough that I almost smiled. I got the sense she was playing up the date. If it was so great, why wasn’t she sitting here with him? And why was I more relieved than smug about that? “Meanwhile, Justin and I will be clamming in Montauk.”
“You two should really just make it official and announce your love to the world.”
“But then I wouldn’t get to flirt with pretty girls.”
“For someone who pretends to have as much game as you,” she said, “I still haven’t seen you successfully flirt with any girls since I’ve known you.”
I smirked. “How do you know I’m not flirting with you right now?”
