Most readers loved this book and sang its praise. For me, however, having read a lot of reverse harem/bully/school plots lately, it seemed too farfetched. The three guys in this story are in school but work for their “dad” at night as vigilantes. This scenario had me scratching my head. The characters were so grown up acting that it made me question why the storyline had them as so young and not older.
Ava Jade is a badass, tough chick and she takes no prisoners. She has secrets and does her best to protect them. The boys do not like her at first and aren’t nice to her at all. Like all the reverse harem books, each of them find themselves being drawn to her. This book did not pull me in as hard as I tried. I wanted to really love it but I never fully connected with the characters. As anyone can see, others really loved the story and I hope you do as well.
Elena writes stories full of feisty heroines and unforgettable heroes. She may also have a small thing for bad boys and often gravitates towards the darker things in life. I would definitely heed the warning on this novella. I read a lot of dark or BDSM or bully romance. To me…there was nothing romantic about this story. I would more categorize this story as dub-consensual BDSM revenge erotica. Paul is a bit unstable and obsessed with payback against a bratty, artsy girl named Sage that he tutored in high school. If you like that type of erotica, this is a dark, titillating dubious-consent, punish the bratty girl by using BDSM elements tale. But for me…there was no romance…dark or otherwise. I found the short story entertaining for the category I mentioned.

What in the ever loving fuck?! Seriously?! Gahhhhh! I am so so so emotional now. Could you tell?! Lol! I was on pins and needles waiting for this book and as soon as it was finally in my hands I devoured it! I should have savored it but when it’s that damn good you go all in! This book was amazing. Tate did a wonderful job weaving in the ups and downs and dropping little crumbs to keep you sucked in. I never got bored. I never skimmed one page. It was amazing!
Now I’ll be real with y’all and say that she ripped my damn heart out at the end. I knew something big was gonna happen just not THAT! Now until we get the next installment into Hades world I will be heartbroken. I need to understand where she’s going with this. And ZED! Finally my man! Finally! So so so many emotions with this book. I was happy, sad, pissed the hell off, and most importantly I was addicted. Addicted to every. Single. Word! Best book I’ve read in a long time!!

I have read several books by Monica James and loved them all. I already knew going in, this book was going to be good but this book wasn’t just good, this book was EVERYTHING! It was dark. It was evil. It was sexy. Holy hell, it was so sick and twisted! And can we also just take a minute to appreciate that amazing cover? First off it’s so damn sexy and it’s also everything I imagine when I think of Punky.
I feel like nothing I say will be able to convey just how amazing this book truly is. I also don’t want to say too much for fear of giving anything away so this review will be a short one. This is definitely one of the books you have to go into as blind as possible so you can truly enjoy firsthand every fucked up twist and turn on this never ending crazy train. I can’t remember the last time I devoured the pages of a book so quickly. As soon as I finished it, I went back and read it again. I think I loved it even more the second time around. You don’t want to miss a thing while reading this book. Every single word is so important and every single thing about this book is mind blowing. Monica James raised the bar to a whole new level with Thy Kingdom Come and I am 100% here for it!
