I really liked this storyline and the characters. With that being said there were definitely parts that needed more fine tuning.
Alexa lost her biological mother at age 2. Her father remarried a wonderful woman and Alexa was given a very nice lifestyle. It is lightly touched upon what her Dad does for a living but it is somewhat top secret. Her family is very close with another family who has a son Devin and is Alexa’s best friend. At the age of 12 Alexa and her family move to an elite section of town and must leave her school and Devin. She is devastated……that is until she sees her new house or should I say mansion, and the boy who lives next door Ethan. I never fully feel the chemistry between her and Ethan although the author insinuates it. Their interactions seemed forced and not developed enough.
Over the next few years her relationship with her best friend Devin is strained and comes to an abrupt halt at the age of 16 when he expresses his love for her and she shoots him down. Yep, she has the hots for the boy next door Ethan. Ethan and his family raise a few red flags but that’s all I will say for now. I still have yet to figure out how they play a part in her life.
Fast forward to Alexa turning 18…..tragedy strikes and her parents are killed. Now here is where the author lost me a little…….she is 18, no siblings, no other family and her parents are just killed in a horrible accident…yet, she doesn’t seem to be grieving…she is hanging out with her friends, and is going to school and seems like she is more focused on Ethan next door then her loss. It just didn’t seem genuine at all. At this point she decides to give her V card to Ethan….who mysteriously disappears the next day….(doesn’t make any sense). And her best friend Devin is now back after 2 years of silence and she then jumps into bed with him…..see what I mean?
Now here is where the story goes from a young girl who loses her parents and is now having sex with not one but two guys to a freakin spy/mystery book…lol
She meets with her parents lawyer and is she is left everything…she will never have to work a day in her life. Along with everything she is given 2 letters. One from her mom and one from her dad. I don’t want to reveal what they say but lets just say her father requests her to do something for him then he wants her to burn the two letters along with the letter of instructions he is sending her to find. Confused yet? Yep, I was too……I don’t want to reveal the instructions and what happens after but I will say….I don’t think her parents accident was an accident. Ethan is back and shady as ever and it leaves off in a cliffhanger. I am looking forward to the next book in this series.

T.R. Cupak was born and raised in the suburbs of a Bay Area city in California. She was the closet nerd who hid her love of reading and writing short stories and poetry when she was younger. Back then it wasn’t considered cool to be into those types of activities for pleasure, whereas today you have TV shows, movies and books that glamourize that being a nerd is actually cool.
T. lives in a quiet, little, country town south of where she grew up. She is happily married to an amazing man who supports her in everything she does and spoils her rotten. They have a crazy little Shih Tzu named Harley. He’s their fur-baby and even though he’s a pain in the arse most days, they love the little guy. She has an obsession with cars, especially fast ones. She enjoys her music louder than anyone should. Admittedly it’s to drown out hearing her own singing voice, or lack thereof. When she’s not at work or busy writing you can find her curled up reading a book on her Kindle with a glass of wine or Dirty Shirley.
T. lost touch with her creative side and stepped off the path of all things written in her early twenties. Six years ago, her passion for reading was rekindled. She began to utilize reading as a way to escape everyday chaos. Late 2013 she began journal writing. After a couple of months of journaling T. realized that this form of writing wasn’t keeping her interest nor was it helping her to relax. After that realization settled in she changed the direction of her writing. Her creative aspirations were flowing once again and she happily embraced it. As her fingers started to dance across her keyboard she began to see her fictional characters begin to breathe life. Writing was only supposed to be a way for the new author to relax, but a story was born and T.R. Cupak is excited to be releasing her self-published debut novel, Alexa Crushed.
