Erin finds her husband having sex with a former cheerleader at her high school reunion. The couple have been together forever and it just about destroys her. After this betrayal she throws herself into her work and writes off all men and relationships. What follows set the tone of the book for me which was very dry. I was not really liking Erin too much from the beginning and it really defined the rest of the book.

Devin, an ex of Erin’s sister, helps her the night of the fateful reunion. Naturally there is an attraction on both their parts when they reunite a few weeks later. Erin is hard headed and only offers a “friends with benefits” type relationship to Devin. Devin wants more but will settle for anything he can get with her and hopes her feelings change. I felt like too many characters were involved. I know that’s a weird thing to say but the storyline truly didn’t flow cohesively. I didn’t feel a love connection at all between Devin and Erin and there was no passion or chemistry. I found the situation with Erin’s parents just did not make sense and it left me scratching my head. I skimmed pages just to see what happened out of curiosity versus being invested in the characters and wanting to see a happy ending. I hope others enjoy this story more than I did.
