Manning is the captain of his hockey team and an all around awesome guy. Super hot, rich, talented and is loved by all. Except his wife. His wife is the epitome of evil. She doesn’t love him but loves what he can offer her and will NOT give him a divorce. Something he has asked for, for years. But she won’t and holds their son over his head. He loves his son and feels like he would die without him in his life so he does what a guy with no choices does. He stays for his son but is miserable. They put on a good act because his wife will not let anyone know there are troubles in their marriage. Even though she is having an affair with her trainer inside their house.

Evelyn is back in her hometown looking for a fresh start. She left a mess behind and needs a new direction. At a chance meeting, her and Manning’s lives collide. All it took was one touch and look. Let’s just say that it’s a one night stand that neither of them will ever forget! Until Evelyn sees him again with his son and his wife and she realizes that he is married. Now I’m not a big fan of a cheating scenerio and obviously neither is Evelyn which is why she tells him to get lost. But there is a bigger picture here and it was awesome to watch Evelyn realize it.

It was a fun read watching these two fall head over heels for each other while navigating Manning somehow getting out of his marriage unscathed. There were times when I felt these two didn’t have a chance in hell. But phew is Manning relentless! Definitely worth a read to find out if these two can find a way through the maze of their lives to finally make it out together!
