This was a fun, hilarious, upbeat book! It definitely got me out of my books slump! Jason (Jace) Pickle is the oldest of three sons whose family runs a pickle/deli empire all over the states. They are informed of a contest to see which brother’s store does the best within a year and the winner will take over after their father retires. Jason realizes he needs to step up his game since his numbers for the store are dead last. He decides to go to Texas to see what is going on with his store. Only he has the bright idea to not tell them he’s the owner but to show up as a new hire…a “friend of the family”.

Nova, who is an employee of his store has recently stepped in as “manager” since he seems to have disappeared. She’s frazzled because there are things she can’t explain with how the store is being run and she’s treading water. She does not like Jace. She actually hates him and is suspicious of him immediately. She thinks he’s hot but she has a job to do.

Jace is immediately attracted to Nova but realizes that he can’t trust anyone until he figures out why his store is losing so much money when it is so crowded all of the time. All employees are a suspect to him but fighting his attraction to Nova is getting harder and harder to do.

Watching these two interact is hilarious! Nova is a spitfire and runs Jace to the ground!! He is not use to being worked like a dog but does it to keep his job in the store until he can figure out who the thief is. I loved these two characters as well as the others in the “Pickle Family”. I laughed out loud many times and was so darn sad the book was over so quickly! I look forward to reading more in this series for sure!
